Helllo! I have been reading a lot of posts here daily but this is my 4th or 5th time to write my thoughts. I was diagnosed last Aug 2010 and was operated last nov 2010, finished my chemo last may 2011. I had my 2nd scan last July 2012 and all are negative. My CEA is also normal, there is rally life after cancer. I'm already working full time, as if nothing bad happened and am traveling yearly and living my life to the fullest. I will be visiting USA for the 1st time this Octoberto November 2012 and I plan to have a good time, enjoy the sights and reconnect with my relatives. The only thing that is bugging me is my best friend who had been battling rectal cancer with me, both of us were diagnosed almost at the same time, and had undergo operation and chemo at the same time has lost his life. Not from cancer, since he also has been cancer free for 2 years like me, but has been stabbed in the heart 3 x and he died alone in his home. I reall feel sorry for him, since his struggles for cancer has cured him but he lost his life from a mugger. So now I'm also praying not only for a complete cure but also for a long and healthy life. Thank you so much for all the support and advices I have received from you guys and I tell my friends who has cancer to log on in this very great support group. Godbless you all!

    Hi
Congratulations on your successes to date!

Sorry about your friend...cancer is a known killer and it's tragic that he overcame those odds and lost his life with a home invasion.

Best of luck with your future and thanks for sharing.

My condolences on the loss of your friend. All of my cancer experiences were in 2010 also. Now NED. My oncology nurse said;" Be good to yourself." It applies to all of us!!!
