Put this in search engine. Great site for newly diagnosed. They have a free book that can keep you organized and record appointments and treatments. Also good information to prepare for treatment.

    Non Keratinizing Carcinoma
Thanks for the support... We got the MRI result and it shows a mass of 3.2 x 2.6 x 2.4 cm, enhancing foci in both longus coli muscle measuring .9 x .9 cm, several prominent lymph nodes in both sudmandibular and carotid spaces with sizes ranges from .6 to to .8 cm, both lateral nodes of rouvier are prominent and the rest are normal..

I am so worried what will doctor say about the results.

    Hi Mitch....
I was diagnosed with Nasopharengeal Carcinoma, with 2 lymph nodes involved on March 5th. As far as I know there is no surgery that can be done for the actual, and rads and chemotherapy are the norm for treatment.

I've been thru 35 radiation treatments, and 4 chemo's with 2 chemo's left to do.

I'm so glad you found this site....there are so many well informed and knowledgable people here...I've been here since the day I found out, and never miss a day of coming here...for inspiration, for questions, to help others...to be helped myself...

    Hi phrannie,

What to expect during radiation and chemo so that I could help him to overcome his fears if he will undergo radiation and chemo?

Did the doctor told you the stage of your cancer when you where diagnosed?

I am happy that you are about to finish ur whole treatment..

Thanks you for the reply phrannie.

    Hi mitch 16,

Many of us have similar but different diagnosis. The universal items binding us together is either operations, treatments or both. Reactions to radiation and or chemotherapy can be all over the place. Measured in terms (I would call) very brutal to uncomfortable. We all know what to expect (worst case), but hope for the best for each “newbie”. The path will all be laid out for you by the physicians; it’s your job (patient & caregiver) to be prepared. This website can help you get prepared. We joke around a little, but take each case as seriously as we can. I truly wish you (both) a peaceful and uneventful journey.

    Best,

    Matt

    Mitch 16,

Just click on my name (CIVILMATT) and you will go to a short bio about me.

Try to relax, you need to wait and see what they think your path of treatment should be.

Don’t beat your self up trying to figure out “why me”, these are great people on this site and I say “why any of us”.

    Best,

    Matt

    Hi Mitch16
Here are really wonderful people who will help you through this! Great support!

My father was diagnosed two months ago with Oropharyngeal cancer, which started in his base of tongue and is spreading on oropharynw and has also spread to his neck lymph nodes.

His treatment will begin on Wednesday: radiation along with chemotherapy.

As I have heard and read, the best thing to prepare for treatments is good nutrition, a lot of strong food, callories, hydration, workout. To keep your body strong and ready. It's important to keep good imune sistem.

And also, keep reading and posting here... You'll get some excellent support! I joined yesterdan :)

    God bless!

    hello
Mine was cancer of the lower jawbone with 2 of 30 lymph nodes positive(1 not encapsulated). I had surgery, rads and chemo. My 1st CAT w/contrast this week. You will read of lots of side effects but everyone does not get every side effect. I suggest "take it as it comes and deal with it". Don't wear yourself down with worry about things that may not happen. You and your husband will both need the strength but, like the rest of us, will get thru it.
