My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer 2 months ago. She has a small cancer in the back part of her lung that her dr. is not worried about. She has stage ii or possibly beginning stage iii in her broncial tube. Everything seemed fine , her dr. extremely hopeful and she was going to start radiation on Friday but they called back and said it is possibly metastatic melanoma. She goes for a biopsy to find out. We haven't been able to talk to her dr. and I know melanoma changes the game. She went to skin cancer dr. and nothing was found as far as melanoma starting on her skin. Is anyone out there going through this? What should I expect? I am young and I need my mom. I want to have kids and I want my mom to be there to help me and watch them grow. She's such a great mom and person. Please help us out.

    Maybe one of the oncologists
Maybe one of the oncologists at cancergrace.org can help you. I would present the info just the way you have here in their lung cancer forum.

Hello, sorry you had to find us. I visit the RCA (rare cancer alliance) web site and one of the posters will be doing a clinical trial which has previously been used with melanoma patients with good success. I haven't been able to watch the video on it, but here it is, and from what I understand from others who have watched it, it is promising. I wish you and your mom well. Lori

This is a good explanation of the study from the original melanoma trials.
