Hello all, dad passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Diagnosed August 2011 stage 3 T3N1M0. Chemo and radio for 3 months, ivor Lewis on December 21st 2011, 3 months of clean up chemmo and devastating news of tumors in liver, both lungs and under his new esophegus 2 weeks ago and passed away last night. Dad was super fit and healthy. There is relief in his death as no more suffering. . I have not posted for 3 months but have been on line reading every other day. My thoughts and prayers are with you all- it is a hideous, evasive and incredibly aggressive cancer. Stay strong and keep positive - my dad's mantra till the end . Always ask for CT scans and don't wait till end of chemo treatments if feel nausea and discomfort in abdomen.. I am in shock but dad at peace which gives me great comfort. Dad was brave and dignified till the end. You are all such a wonderful group of people and I respect you all. I will not post again but sincerely wish you all peace and health - fight hard and Xing my fingers for those undergoing treatment and their families now. We are a small but strong community who look after each other- during the good and bad xxx

Very sorry
So very sorry to read of your dad passing away. The next year (or longer) will be a tough one for you. I pray that peace and great memories soon come to you. I remember losing my dad after his long battle with a non-cancer health issue. It is so hard to see them suffer, but you are never really ready to let them go; only glad they no longer suffer.
Peace,

ECAustralia1,
I am so sorry
ECAustralia1,
I am so sorry for your loss. Our story has many parallels...my mom was diagnosed Aug2011 stage III, MIE Nov. 2011, and recurrence confirmed March 2012. I am so sorry and hope you are surrounded by loved ones and a support system as your grieve. Your dad put up a good fight and is probably happier now. Again, you have our support. -
So sorry for your loss!
There are no words to comfort you at this time. Know that we all share your pain and heartache (and anger) at what the EC beast steals from our lives.
Dying with grace and dignity was Nick's wish at the end also. I'm glad your dad passed peacefully. It's a small comfort to be sure.
Hugs to you!
