Lynch Syndrome Meetup - Portland area, June 23rd

Saturday, June 23rd, 2:00-3:30 PM

People affected by the hereditary cancer syndrome known as Lynch Syndrome are invited to this informal networking event. Caregivers, family members and friends are welcome!

Light refreshments will be served. Registration is appreciated, but not required. To register or for questions or to get involved, email lynchpdx@gmail.com.

This Portland area event is organized by local volunteers affected by Lynch Syndrome. LS leads to greatly increased risk of colon, endometrial, and other cancers. As more of us are found through genetic testing, we are finding each other.

Oregon Health & Science University*
Center for Health and Healing (South Waterfront)

    Thanks for gettting the word
Thanks for gettting the word out mollymuch!

I would love to make it, but I will still be in treatment (radiation). If you have another gathering, please post. Perhaps my husband and I could take the train down and make a weekend of it. I hear Portland is a blast. When I go away, however, I usually try to go someplace geographically very different for reasons I'm sure you know...

I read on another post that you are two years out and had agressive treatment and you are only 44. That gives me great comfort as I am also getting aggressive treatment.

Thanks again for drawing attention to our condition,
    Rachelle

    Thanks, Rachelle -- we're
Thanks, Rachelle -- we're hoping to make this a quarterly thing. Since it's so early on, I didn't want to set the dates out too far in advance, but when I have the next dates I'll post them on this site as well as lynchpdx.wordpress.com. It's not been quite two years for me - that will be in December - but so far, so good! Good luck and be strong for the rest of your treatment, and I hope I get to meet you sometime.
