Went to the hospital today, to see the oncologist and get the results of my scans taken after my RIA. Apparently the scans showed all the radioactivity was concentrated in my neck, which is good. However, she did say that the take up was the highest she had ever seen, and seems to indicate some residual thyroid tissue being attacked by the RIA. Not bad, considering I had THREE operations to remove the tumour, the rest of the thyroid and then, almost a year later, a remnant of thyroid hidden behind an artery. Have to have some more blood tests and another scan further down the line, and see the oncologist again in six months, but the future is looking much better.
