Giving support online

A recent article from the Sarcoma Alliance contains a number of interesting ideas about the 'do's and 'dont's of offering support online to cancer patients.

Maybe unavoidably, it contains some foolish statements such as:

“Research shows that a positive attitude doesn’t actually help cancer patients live longer,” Price says.

which only serves to undermine the credibility of the contributor. Also, I don't think such an offering is the right place to have a hot link to someone's private practice. However, that said, there are some pointers put forward in the article that are not without merit and can usefully be borne in mind by the likes of us in sharing experiences online and trying to help others who are in similar situations.
