I am still a little sick. I went for CT scan yesterday. For all of you that didn't know I finished the fkng book and I am on a different book right noww. This weekend is mother's day and even though I don't have kids I still get the holiday. I will be taken out to see the Avengers movie and for a late lunch. I can't wait!
Hey Pepe, so good of you to do this everyweekend. I love it. Thanks.
Did the pet/Ctscan last monday and have to wait till thursday before I get results. My heart is in my throat and the nerves are having a hold on my stomach. Really silly.
However, my kids are keepin g me busy. Tomorrow a Dutch Market here, onces a year so I am looking forward to all kinds of Dutch goodies to eat. dinner at night is in a restaurant were they perform a Murder Mysterie, interesting the least, as long as I am NOT the one being killed. Sunday Mothersday, with a BBQ at daughters house.
Take care, Hugs,
Marjan
Seems you got an excelent weekend ahead , enjoy it and don't think in anything else , hope nobody kills you tomorrow! LOL.
Praying for good results on your PET.
So glad to hear that your wife is home to keep you in line...lol.
Sunday here is Mother's day. The family will be gathering at my mother and dad's home for a picnic. She normally does all the cooking, but this time we told her we would handle it.
Should be fair weather, but not nearly warm enough for swimming here yet.
We had a wonderful day...the weather cooperated...was nice, not too hot, with a little breeze.
We all had a good visit and good food.
You know you are getting old when your granddaughters start bringing their boy friends to family gatherings...lol. Fortunately they seem to have good taste!
A small birthday party at a restaurant tonight for a wonderful friend, then tomorrow a bbg at a friend's house and I am bring tuna steaks marinated in olive oil/garlic/lemon/oregano.
Sunday I'm playing tour guide to some out-of-town friends so we'll go to the tide pools and look for sea creatures.
PS: The friend with whom we're going to dinner with tonight was a livesaver during chemo. She'd come over every Wed. when I got an Oxi blast....she'd bypass our security system, jump the gate, let herself in, come upstairs and crawl onto the bed with me and watch TV. Funny how that regular silent company meant so much to me.
Enjoy your beach~
Going to have rainy/stormy weather here...will either spend the day resting and listening to the rain, maybe have a John Wayne marathon or we may hit the road and end up who knows where! Either way it is going to be great! Enjoy your swim and wife!
So funny to see your post about a John Wayne marathon. I have possibly every movie he has ever made on DVD or VHS. My family room is lined with John Wayne plates and pictures. I have a ton of memorabilia also. Just sold my "John Wayne" toilet paper. LOL! Nice to see another fan.
For this weekend, I'll probably just sit around and run up my water bill while I water the recently planted grass. We did have an hour long rain about 30 min. after the grass was planted(very unusual for the Phoenix area), so that helped some. Funny thing about this area though, the very next day the ground is bone dry.
Nothing planned for Mother's Day. Both of our mothers and fathers have passed away. Just want to talk to my kids.
No, I do not have any Franklin Mint plates. All but 2 of them are by an artist named Susie Morton. Each depicts a scene or a collage from one of his movies. I like them a bit better than the Franklin Mint plates and I think they are somewhat larger?. The funny thing about collecting this type of thing is that you expect them to grow in value, but it's just the opposite according to Ebay. The same is true for my Madame Alexander Dolls unless I live to be 150. And if you plan to keep them for your kids, you discover that your kids have different collecting interests.
It's chemo como weekend for me...had big treatment so wont be doing anything to tough. My son and his dog is coming for a visit. Everyone have the best weekend possible. Jeff
It's Rick's chemo weekend too, so it will be a very quiet Mother's Day weekend for us. But we will try to see both of our Mom's on Sunday if he is feeling up to it. Enjoy the time with your son and the pup.
Looking forward to Mothers Day and Planting the Garden when the weather dries out the garden soil.
Pepe, Have fun swimming and enjoy the weekend with your wife,.
The healing from my left lung lobectomy is uncomfortable but the walk I need to take gets me to different parks in my area. Lots
ofp green and fresh air which is good for the soul and spirits.
Who knows how my 20 and 22 will honor me for Mom's day-I have hinted for annuals to plant in our window boxes....
Monday is trip to oncologist to discuss surguries/tumors board review-always a stressful day.:(-
Anyways its fun to here what others have planned :-)
Your cheers and encouragement has meant a lot to me and others! Thanks to Pete also!
We are planning to walk another Mountain trail near our home. We moved to the Mountains and have over 250 miles(600km) of local trails. We have Hundreds of miles more within 30 miles of us. We are loving our new life, and the enjoyment of living in a relaxing town.
Best Always, mike

I have got my hopes up for a nice day tomorrow, its mothers day.
i have spent the afternoon cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom as i just finished reading
"clean, green and lean" by doctor crinnion. he was at the conference i went to.
so spent the afternoon cleaning the bath with non toxic cleaning products. it could almost have made it into the exercise post, it was hard work.
the kids have lovelly presents for wifey, and she wants to go out somewhere nice for lunch with her parents and kids. tomorrow should be great!
mothers day is a special day for us. seems like we celebrate it here at a different time to the rest of the world.
Happy mothers day everyone.
I am a bit late to post. I am getting ready for my 2 sisters and one of my daughters coming for a visit. My sister that is so sick it bound and determined to come. Her pain is finally under control. we plan a restful fun week for her.
On mothers day my daughter and her family, who live in fl. are coming for a barbecue. we are celebrating mothers day next week when we are all together. I am so excited, keep you fingers crossed that Mary does not have any setbacks.
Hugs to all,
Judy
I flew down to Myrtle Beach to be with a good friend who is battleing prostate cancer that has returned to him from 3 years ago and its now in his blood stream. Interesting treatment that he's getting.... it called Provenge by a company called Dendreon is the company that's making huge strides in this area of treatment.
They run his blood through a machine and pull out the white blood cells, they tell him to rest for 3 days while they send the white blood cells to Dendreon in Atlanta... and they "re-energize or super charge" the white blood cells, and then put them back into him a few days later. Its a clinical trail, but very interesting.
he showed me a web site called www.clinincalTrails.gov
interesting.
but, the weekend is all about relaxation and re-energizing each other as we both battle a stage 4 cancer. We've been friends for over 23 years and its good to have "life talks" with each other... and we're also going to make our own "bucket list" for the two of us.
one thing on the list is to ride in a Helicopter... going to do that today!
Arrived in Southern France yesterday - staying in a small village not to far from the Spanish border (Hola, Pepe!) On a long needed holiday, celebrating 5 years of life post-dx!
Friday night I was with some of the girls from the youth group. We had a spa sleepover. So much fun! We had manicures and pedicures, watched a great movie, talked and laughed, and ate lots of snacks.
Yesterday I sadly went to a funeral for a friend's mother... After that my daughter took me to lunch and took me shopping for Mother's Day.
Today was church, and then we came home and rested some. Then Bill took me out to dinner!
