Was done with my 1st - 2 week cycle of Xeloda last Friday so have been off for 1 week now. My doc ordered it as 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off and I haven't seen that anywhere on line, But, it is probably good since my CBC yesterday showed a BIG drop in WBCs. Will see MO this coming Friday before starting next cycle. Scan in 4 weeks.

After the initial fear it hasn't been too bad. Breathing got much easier in the first 3 or 4 days and had many trips to the potty so am thinking a lot of the fluid came off of my lung. No more tightness in chest or hacky cough. I am sure each 2 week cycle will have its own challenges but hopefuly with the help of my pinks I can figure out how to deal with them.

Wishing all of you a great week, the best possible results of any test, and some FUN,

Jennifer

    Thank you for the compliment!
I told the photographer that I wanted to look so good that people who know me would wonder if it was really me. She did a great job!

    Hi Jennifer,

There seems to be so many variations on treatment for Xeloda. I have been reading up lots of posts from other forums on this one. I will be watching your post with interest.

This is one of the chemos that my oncologist suggested I take. I went for one last ditch effort with Faslodex though my oncologist believes it will fail. My cancer is slow growing but there is now enough nodes in different areas of my lung and tumors to think otherwise. I only did chemotherapy once when I began the journey 17 1/2+ years ago. I worked through it all without any fond memories. I know that I won't be able to do it again with all my other health problems.

Envy you the easy breathing. Though I am on my 6 week of Faslodex, my breathing has not gotten any easier nor the other problems.

So I hope this continues to be "not to bad". It will make my decision easier when I have to pick one.

May you have a good week,

    Doris
