ostomy smell

What do you do about the smell of the ostomy bag. My husbands smells so bad when he is emptying it and it goes throughout the house. I don't say anything to him because I don't want to hurt his feelings, he's already having a hard time with it (mentally) now. I didn't know if there was something that can be done or how you all deal with the smell. I hope no one takes this the wrong way.
