I have had slowly rising CEA and liver enzymes for a year now. LFTs 4x normal. CT normal last June. I was sent by onc to liver specialist who wanted to test for autoimmune disease; then, if neg, proceed to MRI of liver and possible biopsy. This week, Autoimmune results came back positive. Liver specialist now wants to repeat in one month. I am feeling a little uncomfortable with the wait to check out liver. I see onc on Monday. Am I being unreasonable to push for another scan of liver now? Any correlation between autoimmune diseases and cancer/recurrence? I did like liver specialist...he was not rushed and explained things. However, he had admin asst call with plan.
As always, thanks for your help. As stated on another thread, this cancer family makes a big difference in my life.

    Hi Cathleen Mary
I'd wait to hear what your oncologist has to say before I moved forward.
    Hoping you get good news...

    I think
I think they want to wait a month to see if anything grows.Last may I just had a small spot on my liver, now it is the size of a golf ball. The boipsy showed positive.I know it is hard, but if you wait, then they will be able to tell how fast it is growing.Did they tell you if it was colorectal cancer that spread,or liver cancer, there is a difference.Good luck.

    That's a lot to process
    That's a lot to process isn't it?
I don't have any advice or suggestions (and don't know what I'd do either) but wanted to let you know I was thinking about you.....

Thanks for your words of wisdom. You have slowed the panic button and helped me to be patient until Monday when I meet with my oncologist whom I trust very much and have a great relationship with.
I just didn't want this cancer journey to get any more complicated but it is what it is.

    one day at a time
Cathleen Mary, One day at a time. No need to panic yet. Speak with your onc, ask his advice, because you trust him. A cancer journey is complicated, with many speedbumps and successes along the way.
My mantra is ... one day at a time...
    hugs. Marjan
