Lesson learned

Wow......I came upon this site as I sit here recovering from two surgeries that I had in three weeks time. I had a tumor on my ovary and they took both ovaries and tubes and thought it was benign. It ended up having to be tested at three different labs...the waiting was terrible.......and it came back boarderline/malignant. I then had to have another surgery to remove my uterus, omentum (sp?), cervix, and some lymph nodes . Everything came back negative and no chemo was needed. During the surgery the doctor disturbed a nerve in my upper leg and it went numb. Now the feeling is returning but it is very painful- especially in the groin/pubic bone area. He said it would repair itself but would take 6 months to a year and he put me on a nerve pain medication. I will have my blood work done every three months and I will have a ct scan in 6 months and a year to follow up on the cancer. So......as I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself I started to pray. Then I came upon this website and started reading the posts. Soon I was crying. I read posts from the most courageous women that are going through so much more than I have. Finding this site and reading what all you brave women are up against and fighting with all your strength has really enlightened me. I now pray for all of you....and I will continue to. Keep fighting and know that your strength has saved my spirit. God bless you all.

Welcome and thank you for your encouraging words
You came to the right place to get information and support and to just vent or "talk" if you feel like it. I'm so sorry about the pain you're experiencing in your leg but so glad that you don't need chemo. I'm hoping that you continue to have good results from your blood work and CT scans.

    Take care,
    Kelly

    thank you
Thanks for your prayers we all could use them. I don't care what level your cancer is or if you need chemo or not it is a hard thing to hear and then live through. I am stage four and have read post from others who are not stage four and their battle seems so much harder than mine. Cancer do not care who you are or how hard it will hit to live through it or fighting it now means we are all very strong women. You will be in my prays also and come to this site any time you need a lift you are still a teal sister and we are here for you.
