I have decided to change my profile picture to one that was taken in happier times. This pic of Rickie and myself was taken on our 35 wedding anniversary, 2 months before we knew anything about our journey down the road to battle the Beast. I have decided I want to remember Rickie exactly as he looked in this picture, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face!

Great idea Cheryl. It is much better to remember him this way. He looks so happy here. Brought a tear to my eye as he actually looks quite a lot like my Bill in both coloring and build - not dress though - Bill always wears overalls.

Cheryl, It's so good that you're seeking out the good memories.Thank God the Lord in his mercy, helps us as time goes by, to be comforted by all the good memories and in time the bad becomes vague. Even though we don't forget we can look at pictures like the one you posted and be warmed by the memory and love that was shared.
    Thanks for the picture,

    Very Nice
What a great happy picture of the two of you! Such nice smiles and such a worry-free time of life....right before the "C" bomb hit. It's so nice and so helpful to try to focus on those good times and memories instead of the sick times. If we look at the overall pictures of our married lives Cheryl, I know I have so many more happy pictures than sick pictures and I'm guessing you do too. They are so special to me now.
    Thanks for sharing!
    Hugs to you,
    Rita
