I haven't seen any recent posts from Alex. Just wondering if anyone knows how her husband is doing after his liver resection surgery. Thinking of you Alex and hoping that Toni is recovering well from his surgery. Hugs and prayers, Teri

    Thank you for asking, Teri!
Thank you for asking, Teri! We're doing fine. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow post surgery. it went well. He's just so tired and he really doesn't do much yet. is that typical, from those who have gone through a liver resection? He sleeps alot, watches tv, and seems to have mood swings and some depression.- plus thinking about chemo coming up too does not help! On the bright side, today was my first day back at work so that was good! How are you and your husband doing? what about you, Blake? Hope things are looking up!

    Hi,

    Hi,

In regard to the tiredness, yes, it's quite normal. I remember posting on this board after Rick's liver surgery since he was sleeping so much, but Craig correctly told me that Rick's body just needed rest. He started doing short walks around house and out to the mailbox at about week four, and found that a little exercise gave him a bit more energy, so he expanded the walks to around the neighborhood after a while.

    All my best, Cynthia

    sounds very typical
Glad you are doing fine. That is great to hear! I think it is very typical to be feeling so tired post surgery. My husband was and is going through the same with the exception of that fact that I do not have a job so financially it is all on him so that is rough. He is 6 weeks post surgery now and starting to have more energy and doesn't sleep much at all during the day now. He is still a long way from feeling good and starts radiation next week so he still has a long road ahead. We were wondering if he should take something for depression but not sure if it will help or not. To make matters worse, we just found out last week that my godchild and brother's only daughter who was 13 years old died suddenly... so it has been an emotional roller coaster around here. I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you all and hope that Toni continues to improve. When does he start chemo? Take care, Hugs, Teri
