in Ovarian Cancer #1
This is my second round of chemo so my hair fell out with the first round Carbo/taxol. This time it is falling out more slowly on Carbo/Gemzar/avastin , it is driving me crazy! I just grabbed my scissors and cut off my chemo curls lol. It is not too bad but I don't recommend this for anyone. Good thing I still have my wigs from the first round. What a way to start the new year.

    I had mine buzzed off last Thursday. It was depressing seeing it fall out strand by strand.

    I worked in the food industry my whole life and the worst thing is feeling or seeing a fallen hair, it was driving me insane . The wigs and hats will keep me warm in this cold Western New York weather. Get some great hats and have fun with it.

    Actually... wigs make great hats :)
    I live in Upstate NY also and could use both a wig and a hat today. Gemzar/carbo (and gemzar/ cisplatin now that I'm allergic to carbo) has worked very well for me. May this be just the combo that kicks the beasts butt!

    Embarassing but need to know
    Life isn't fair sometimes. Yep, lost my hair twice now and looks like it might fall again if I need to go back on chemo. Loved not having to shave my legs during the hot Texas summer we experienced this year. Of course I didn't like drawing eyebrows back on (not good at it) and I missed having eyelashes to keep the crud out of my eyes. Petty problems, I know. Unfortunately, I don't look really swift BALD.However, this time when the hair came back on my head it also is growing frankly on my face and I don't know how to deal with. I'm sure this is a result of my complete hyst in 2009. Of course with cancer dx doctors don't want me to take hormone replacement. Can't see getting up every morning and shaving...any suggestions?

    Darn, I guess I'm just too vain. On the funny side, it's bad enough when your own hair falls out, but when your wig starts to shed too...oops time for a new one.

    It felt so much better for me to be bald then to see the icky hair everywhere I sat or rested my head. I don't have hair on my legs, I guess it's an age thing but I do have some facial hair and it was great not to have that for a while.

    I know how you feel I am 46
    I know how you feel I am 46 and have delt with the facial hair on my chin since I was about 24 it was because of my PCO. It was so nice not to have to shave every day. I still had hair growing on my chin and head during chemo. I lost almost all of my hair on my head and what did not fall off my chin grew back slow now it is back to normal.

    Hair In Wrong Places
    Thank goodness my facial hair is light in color and my wig helps as it is definite sideburns and jawline hair continuing upwards to some extent on my cheeks...sort of look like Santa by next year at this rate. Let's hear it for estrogen - guess it did more than cause mood swings every month. Guess one must need to see the humor in the side effects of this disease and treatment. Should I hafta go thru chemo again, I think I'll select a sassy redheaded wig...always kidded my husband I would and now that he's passed, I don't hink he would mind.

    Oh to be 46 again....I'm a little older. I wish you success in this journey we travel.

    In my feel good look good
    In my feel good look good class, the facial hair was the big OMG joke. All other hair fell out, but now we have CHIN HAIRS??!?!?!?!?!

    My facial hair is out of control. I wax 2-3 times more than before I had cancer. Mind you, I had PCOS so I was already hairy...now...shudder

    Wax and depilatory companies are going to make money off of me.
