    Thanks Marie....our health
Thanks Marie....our health food stores carry Now Foods supplements, but for some reason they don't carry MCP. You can get apple pectin, grapefruit pectin etc....but not the modified citrus pectin.

    no i don't think so
    The big word is modified,
I also wanted to make this myself and save money before I had my little scare. I just bought it from let, doing the 4 buy its supposed to stop nets forming, if it does it will be the best 50 bucks I have spent.

    That's what I didn't
That's what I didn't understand, they had pectin for making jams, and they had modified pectin too for making preserves.

    fractionated pectin powder
    Happy New Year Smokeyjoe!

Not sure if this helps . . . . but I use Fractionated Pectin Powder which my naturopathic doctor prescribed for me. It is made by Thorne Research which is in Idaho. You can goole them at www.thorne.com, but I am not sure if you can buy directly from them. I found two places here in Ottawa that carry it, but Watson's Pharmacy was by far the cheapest - and the place my doctor sent me anyway. They will do mail orders. (They also compound my melatonin.)

    Watson's Pharmacy and Wellness Centre, 192 Main St., Ottawa.; ph - 613 238 1881.

You mentioned earlier that you sometimes get to Ottawa to skate on the canal. If you do, you may want to check out the newly opened Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre. It is the first centre of its kind in Eastern Canada and where my naturopathic doctor works from.

I may just check out Watsons
I may just check out Watsons if we go skating this year, I'm sure the family will probably start talking about it soon!!! Any ice on the canal yet???? It's been pretty mild lately, until today anyway!!! We have a bit of ice on our lake, actually saw some guys on snowmobiles out on Friday, definitely isn't thick enough yet, and sure enough they went through and had to be rescued....police charged them with several offences, go figure!!!
