Wow I'm not sure if I've got the flu or not. My back and chest aches so bad and and it feels like I've got to go poopies so I've taken some Milk of Magnesia and tums and I'm feeling a little better but this is the way I'm always feeling when needing to go poopies good and a good clean out but just feel different this time. Going the bathroom one timr made me feel better but not much and it wasn't really nothing. My hubby hasn't felt well in days and our daughter said she has been sick since leaving our house Christmas Eve. I feel achy but alway do when I'm not able to got poopies enough. I'm just freezing too. Never get the flu shot as that always gave me the flu. Golly Im thinking I've gotten the flu and this will have been a first in 7 or 8 years. Thinking it could be a blockage too as I've not gone good in 3-4 days. I'm just hoping that this passes. Hope everyone else is up to par.

    If you think it might be a blockage, get some Magnesium Citrate at your local drug store. It is a clear liquid. I recently had the problem and put about 1/3 of a bottle in with some water and drank it. It has a strong citrus flavor. Brushing your teeth and tongue after helps get rid of the after taste. I had results in about 2 hrs.

    The directions on the bottle say you can take more, but you don't want to get the opposite effect either, just need to get things moving again.

    I know what you mean with the poopies...it is the worst. Christmas eve had a lot of pain tried to go but not much would come. Christmas day not rreal bad pain. Yesterday bad again. Today went to onc he's sending me for CT scan next week and also concerned with peeing so sending me to urologist. Do you have blockage? I am now getting hemroides from straining..how about you. Thank god we can talk to people with similiar problems because these aren't things most people can relate to ha ha!! Sometimes I thinks it's the weather but who really knows.

    Just thinking of you, you poor dear. Hoping this passes soon, and is only a 24 hour flu, is that too much to hope for?? Hope not!
    Take care and have hubby get some nice tissue with aloe vera and extremely soft for the upcoming days.

    The change in the weather does affect many people too. My hubby has a slight cold. My tips are to drink plenty of Juice (orange or apple or both). Drink Hot Tea! Take vitamin c 500 mg twice a day. Eat hot soup. The more you take in - the more that comes out. Wear socks and a hat day and night to lock the heat inside you.

    Maybe a warm to hot bath will "loosen things up?"

    I hope you get to feeling better....that is one miserable feeling....sickness always is prone to striking around the holidays, it seems. That's ususally when I take a tumble as well.

    We have the flu at our house...
    lots of aches, fever, chills, etc. Apparently the flu shot we got in the fall was for some other kind of flu! No GI problems though, so I wonder if maybe you have a bug and an obstruction at the same time? I've read that the citrate stuff is supposed to really work, and if it doesn't, that means an obstruction is likely. Think I'd call my doc, check in about this, just to be on the safe side. Hope things clear up soon! Ann

    I sure hope you feel better real soon. The news is reporting in increase in Flu here in Michigan so hopefully that is all it is. Our weather has also been lousy, warm (for Michigan anyway) one day and in the teens the next so adjusting one's body has been hard. Both George and I were complaining about feeling chilled. If it gets cold your body can adjust but this up and down is driving me nuts.

    Thanks everyone for your concern and comments. I'm sure that there is no blockage as I went last night but just not as much as I've eaten (oh these darn holidays). I've taken the citrus magansium stuff before when they wanted to do a flex scope and that stuff is awesome. You talk about the flood gates opening :)

    It's going around here too,
    It's going around here too, we were supposed to meet up with friends for a dinner out, they called had to cancel as they had been up all night throwing up and runs to the toilet...hope you feel better soon.

    Flu here too
    Hi: I had the stomach flu over Christmas and it is still with me - vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue. No turkey this year! HOpe you are better.

    Hi Kim,
    I hope you and family are feeling better. I was woken up several times last night to the sound of my 18 year old son hurling in the bathroom - diarrhea too. He has all the classic flu symptoms but I'm not exactly sure what is going on,since he got a flu shot last month. I'm hoping it's nothing serious. Once again, I hope all is well with you and the family.

    bowel movements
    I had stage 1 colon cancer surgery on Dec 2. I have trouble with pooping ever since. Trouble knowing gas pains from movements. poop 4 to 5 times some days. Very little volume most of the tme. Odor is awful.

    New to this site.
