Starting first ever chemo

Starting chemo for the first time tomorrow. I have been approved for a clinical trial and have to be at the cancer facility tomorrow morning at 8:30. They said it will be an all day ordeal, at 6-7 hours worth of sitting there...

Now I am really looking forward to getting this going, not sure when the nervousness will start if at all.. I am really optimistic about this, and ready to start.. and the sooner I start the sooner I get done with this crap...

    My husband was very anxious
My husband was very anxious to get started with chemo! He didn't like thinking that the cancer wasn't being addressed. I hope the nervousness doesn't set in at all for you.
You need a treatment bag full of things to help you pass time. Pack it full of anything you like to do from cross word puzzles to letter writing. That is a lot of time but you might end up sleeping through quite a bit too. Take a blanket, it's nice to have for the naps. Take your favorite snacks and drinks (where my husband had treatment they had really good snacks for you and your care giver). Think good healing thoughts and GOD bless you.

    I remember the readiness to
I remember the readiness to start treatment and get it over with, to get cancer behind me, to move on--and the delay seemed interminable. (DX 2009 Stage 3 rectal)
I hope your path is smooth and it sounds like you take things in stride. There will be some curve balls thrown at you---it's inevitable--but here's to a safe and easy-as-possible treatment plan.
    Good luck on this journey~
