A Tale of Two Christmas's

Last year, just before Christmas, I was pronounced NED and the 2010 Christmas season was gloriously happy for me. Also, because my scan was clean, I turned down a early retirement from my job. Now, just before Christmas this year, I am looking for the results of a scan after two rounds of chemo after I got mets to lungs and spine and a grim prognosis. A lot can sure happen from one year to the next. Despite everything and despite what I might find out on Monday, I am still going to do my best to enjoy the wonderful Christmas season that I love so much. As many others have said, the kind folks on this site have been a big help to me in keeping my spirits up and continuing the fight. Even in war, there is usually a cease fire for Christmas. Hopefully, 'the beast' will offer a cease fire as well.

Roger

    Like you I tell myself
that no matter what tomorrow brings, today is a good day. You know Roger, the main difference between us and lots of other folks is just that we are acutely aware of our mortality. The task is just living life one day at a time. Happy Holidays Roger. May everything in our lives declare a ceasefire.

Will be praying for a clean scan on Monday. I will find out this Thursday whether the chemo is shrinking my tumors or not so I can appreciate you anxiety.

We will both get good results, I know because I believe!!!

    Stay strong,
    Glenna

    Scans
Thanks, Glenna. I will be praying for good results for you on Thursday. I doubt that I will sleep much tonight as I am in turmoil anticipating what the doc might tell me tomorrow. But, I believe also, so let's believe that both of us will get good news this week.

    Cease fire.
I'm hoping you get the best news possible on Monday. I also pray you will have a fantastic Christmas. A holiday miracle would be great, too.

    EASIER SAID THAN DONE
It is certianally "easier said than done", but Christmas is a time for joy even when things are not going as planned. Please try to put the negative stuff on a shelf and out of mind if even for just one day, and take a break from the norm.

I still believe with faith and science behind you, you will one day post NED once again.

Best to you and your family.

I hope the scans come back showing the cancer given up the battle. I know you are fighting hard. Please enjoy the holidays and let us know what you find out on Monday.
