Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and GBM updated info

Hi all -

I am interested in the current thinking on the link between CMV and GBM, and about the kinds of immunotherapies which might make a difference in battling this terrible disease. Does anyone have any current information on this? Thanks - CindyO

Duke has a few clinical trials regarding CMV and gliomas. Go on clinicaltrial,gov and type in CMV and glioma and it should come up.

CMV and GBM trials
Dr. Gottschalk of Baylor's Center for Cell and Gene Therapy in Houston has 2 gene therapy trials targeting the CMV-GBM link that are currently open:

He's using a similar approach as the University of Pennsylvania researchers announced in August regarding the remarkable success of a gene therapy on leukemia (http://tinyurl.com/gene-therapy-leukemia).
