Renewed Pain

My husband just finished his 11th round of 5FU + Avastin. The pain (gassy feeling) he had at diagnosis disappeared after the second round but reappeared a week ago. Scans show chemo is working very well. I want to believe pain is more related to the treatment than the cancer but worry that something else is going on. Did any of you have a similar experience? Lisa

    Don't know if your husband
Don't know if your husband has had surgery yet, but after surgery I had an undissolved, and undiagnosed, stitch that would flare after chemo, causing intense pain. After not getting any answers from the hospital where I was rcving trtmt, I went to a different hospital and the fresh-eyed doctor took one look at the bump, knew what is was, and took it out that afternoon.

Thanks for replying. He has not had surgery. He is considered a potential candidate for HIPEC surgery and I just don't want anything to get in the way. Lisa

    I would trust the scans
at least based on my chemo experience. I had all kinds of digestive problems, including gas and pain, that was not directly related to the cancer. Hopefully that will be your husband's experience as well. Take care, Ann

    Pain
    Hi, Lisa.

I have had chronic pain since my colon resection, and everything points to me being NED, so hopefully your husband is just responding that way to some of his treatments.

    *hugs*

    Heck
I've been up and down on my "gassy" feeling with stomach, more so after surgery (hey they did tell me it wouldn't be the same)so I would trust more in the scans at this moment.
