I had my blood drawn yesterday. I hate this couple of days. Once I get my result I can breathe again for another three months. And I really hate the phone call I will make tomorrow to get the result. My heart pounds as I await news of my fate. Ovarian cancer has a hold on us even when it is (hopefully) not there. Damn it! Don't mind me, I'll feel so much better tomorrow afternoon. If not, you'll hear about that, too.

Waiting for results is terrible. However, my dr. had my results the same day I had an appt. with him. Hoping it's very normal!!!

I am always a nervous wreck when it is time for the CA125 results. I have been cancer free for a little over 3 years, yet I suddenly have 'symptoms' when it is time for each checkup. My stomach starts swelling...I think it is cancer. I have a headache...I think it is cancer. My fingers were aching yesterday from arthritis, and I thought it might just be cancer. LOL! I feel at times that I live 3 months at a time. I am a strong woman of faith, so I become frustrated within about a few weeks before test time. Hang in there! I am grateful for this site of strong women!

    Jsut got my result.
It's 5! I am happy but of course a little aprehensive because it has been 3 the last two times. I know 5 is a great number but I hate that it went up. I have to process this for a couple of days and then I'll relax and move on. Thanks for your support.

    Congratulations! 5 is
Congratulations! 5 is great!!! I have remained at a 4 since my second chemo treatment in 2008. I am so grateful. I still know how you feel. I am becoming obsessed with cancer websites right now because my test is next month.

    Karen and all here
Have you considered NOT monitoring your CA125? My doc told me of research where one group was monitored and the other not. Both got needed treatment and the end result the same. The benefit was the group that did not monitor had better quality of life.

After completing treatment for recurrence, I have decided to be one of those ladies. My doc monitors and continues to smile at me each visit until the number reaches a point of concern for him. Then he will tell me we need to talk. In the meantime I can just be happily NED. Now, I still get butterflies each time I get checked but I don't have to fret about fluctuation in numbers.

Just something to think about. Mary Ann

    I can see your point
but I think I would go crazy not knowing. I don't mean to sound as if I stress about it, for the most part I am in bliss. I am grateful for each day and try to acknowledge each day as a gift. I think part of me believes the monster will not return but I don't want to get cocky about it. I am a little superstitious.

My doctor says any number under 10 is all the same number.

    Great number
Karen, that is a great number. We all feel the anxiety to know the results. But you are good to go. I am so happy for you.
