John's Surgery Update

Just spoke with Dr. Meredith; John's surgery is done. The MIE was performed and he tolerated the surgery fine. The plan is to extabate in recovery and then to ICU. He stated that he goes to the pathology department and looks at margins. He has clean margins. Will need path report on lymph nodes before we know about post -OP chemo. Next steps to heal then swallow study on Wednesday. Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts. I am so tired but I think I will sleep good tonight.

    I am SO relieved for you! You have got to be breathing more easily now that John is through surgery. Prayers go with you for a peaceful weekend!

    Erica, another one passes with flying colours! Hope he is able to get up and at'em with the rest of his graduating class. Take care and rest up!

    Happy to hear the waiting is over, and already know you have clean margins must be a relief. Now we all wait for pathology, praying all is clean.

    You guys have been on my mind and in my prayers all day. So glad to hear John came through surgery okay..........hopefully the worst is done and the path reports will come back clean. Chalk one more up for the junior class. Guess you won't be able to watch the Bucs/Lions on Sunday (blacked out). Get him up and out of bed as much as possible......I know from my previous surgeries that it really goes a long way in aiding recovery.

    Great to hear John is doing well
    I am so happy to hear that John's surgery went well. I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight. I will continue to pray that John has a rapid and complete recovery and that the pathology is clear.

    God has truly blessed you this month, along with SO many others that John will be able to 'hang' with during classroom breaks as part of the largest junior class to date at once!! I am so pleased and relieved to hear that he has made it through and that you did, too!

    GO REST! You will need that sleep to watch John's miraculous recovery and rapid advancement into the world of "We did it, we beat the beast" as he begins to walk, and talk, and eat and sing and loves you to the end!

    My prayers and dreams are with you now., What great news!

    May your road be always uphill and better from here on now.

    I am so glad John's surgery
    I am so glad John's surgery went well. It has to be a scary day on the outside of the srugical room waiting on a loved one to come out. Not knowing what is going on except for periodical updates. You have endured the wait of a life time and my hat is off to you and John for the strenght and courage you both have shown so far. We will continue to pray for you and John and keep us posted.

    Again, we are so happy for you.
