My sister had her second MRI, the tumor grew was 2.5cm X 1.8 X 1.7 now 3.0cm X 2.5 cm. She has missed so many treatments so doctor wasnt surprise. Im really sad. The doctor will start her back on the temador but we are a week late again. He is going to do another MRI right after and start something new.We had to stop the 30 day early. and only got the 5 day twice. So I dont know what to think. Im numb....

    hi there
My daughter did not do well on the Temodar either. She was really sick and very, very tired all the time. The temodar also made her blood counts go so low that she too would have to stop. I feared that everyday that she was off it was another day the cancer would grow. The cancer did grow and grew back very quickly. I was devestated. Then she went on Avastin and a few more drugs and she has been cancer free 10 months now. The numb feeling you have is normal, it's your bodies survival mode. After 18 months since my daughters diagnosis, I still have many days that I feel that way, but there are days that I don't. Time does make things alittle easier. If you need to talk, laugh, cry, I, we, are here for you

I am so glad hear that your daughter is doing so well after she's been through. I'm sure it's due as much to your care and determination to get the best docs for her as well as her own strength. My son (age 34, dx 4-18-11, inoperable AA3/GBM)is about to start his second round of the 5/28 day Temodar. He's not due for an MRI until Oct.12. Just wondering, when you say she is "cancer free," does that mean nothing is showing up on her MRI? I'm asking this because our son's first MRI, three weeks after finishing radiation, showed "mixed results," in other words, inclusive. Just wondering what these MRIs are suppose to really tell us what's going on. Blessings to you and your daughter.

    Hi connsteele
Never be afraid to ask me anything :). My daughters doctors told us at the appt for her MRI results was that there is no evidence of disease. The area where the tumor was (total resection of tumor), actually showed signs of healing. The bad thing about high grade gliomas is that there may be 1 or 2 cells that survive all the treatments and start to grow back. Unfortunetly, they cannot see single cells on an MRI, maybe someday. As bad as this cancer is, just think, our kids could've had this 10 years ago and not have the options they have today. God bless you and your son. I will pray for healing for him.
