Got implants 2 weeks ago

And I am disappointed that my left breast is noticeably smaller than my right. My left was the one with the Cancer and was already the smaller one before BC.I was hoping it would be more the same size as the right one. Anyone else have this problem and what should I do?
I had told my ps a month before my surgery I thought the left one was smaller but he didn't think so :( Now he says he will lipo my tummy and put some fat in to match it up. Do you think this will work? I don't expect perfect. But I was hoping not to be so noticeable.I guess I should just be glad to be alive. It almost seems like there are 2 different size implants.

    give it a little time!
    Hi Sandy :)
I had my implants put in last November. My plastic surgeon, and everyone else who I spoke with who had had implants, they all said that it would take a good 4 months before your implants "settle" into the size & shape they will be. Personally, mine seemed to get bigger after the first few months. I was disappointed with how mine looked right after my surgery too, but trust me and believe me that they will "fluff" out and get better & better each day!
My PS also did some fat grafting on me - he took a few large syringes of fat from right under my bellybutton, and injected it back into some flass-ish looking spots on the front of my breasts, and that small amount of fat made a HUGE difference. Give it some time, and they will fall into place nicely!
    *hugs*

    foobs
    Hi Sandy,

Heather is right it takes time. I have a lumpectomy on one side (surgeon did a good job so its not too disfiguring) and a mastectomy on the other. The implant on the mastectomy side did not match the lumpectomy side after my initial surgery, within about 6 months it was much better. I have since lost some weight so now it does not match again but thats my fault. If you find that you are not satisfied with your new foob express your concerns to your PS it is amazing the things they can do to correct or enhance what has already been done, you do not have to be disappointed. I has a sharp point near my lower cleavage and my foob rolled towards my underarm when I would lay down. I accepted this for 2 years until I was just so unhappy I went sobbing (yes I admit I mad a fool of myself) to my PS telling him I wanted it to stay in place and look more natural. He assured me he could fix it and fix it he did. It is now a very realistic foob and was worth more surgery to obtain. Hang in there you will get there! Hugs~Hugs~Hugs~~~

I feel for you that you feel
I feel for you that you feel so disappointed in how your implants are currently. I am sure you were excited and had expectations and after all you have gone thru it was something nice to look forward too, I bet. Hopefully in time like Heather and Re, you will have the implants that you wanted! I hope you found some encouragement from them.

Had MY Exchange Surgery in June
    Hi Sandy,

At the time of my right mastectomy I had a tissue expander put in. A saline fill was done then and only 1 other time before the exchange surgery. In June I had a breast reduction done on my left (non-cancer) side and I had the tissue expander replaced with a saline implant on the right side. I couldn't be happier with the breast reduction. It is shaped well, firm, and for the 1st time in MANY years actually points forward (LOL). The right/reconstructed side I am less happy with. I was a DD cup prior to all the surgery and am probably a C/D now. Haven't gone bra shopping yet. While wearing a sports bra (for the 1st 8 weeks)it looks OK in clothes but the shape is not very natural and the mammary fold just isn't there. The lack of a fold seems to cause the sports bras to ride up. As you said, I don't expect perfect but I was hoping for a little more natural look. The reconstructive surgeon doesn't recommend any further surgery to fix this issue. I am considering waiting another 2 months and if it doesn't look any better I will consult another surgeon for a 2nd opinion. If this is the final result then so be it, but I will not be pressured into the nipple/areola reconstruction until I am satisfied that this is indeed the final shape. I too am glad to be alive (and have hair) but it doesn't mean that I cannot hope for a more "normal" looking body.

I hope you get the result you are hoping for.

    Thank you for the encouragement
Thank you all for the encouragement.I appreciate you all taking the time to reassure me it will get better.I will try to be patient and give it more time. I have another appt. with my ps next week. He says he will do some tweaking during the nipple surgery. He is planning on scheduling that in 6-8 weeks. He has me wearing an ace bandage for a while. Has anyone else had to do this. I was hoping for just a sports bra soon. The ace is very uncomfortable.Irene, I do feel fortunate that my mammary fold seems fine. I don't think a bra will ride up. Have had a sports bra on for a brief time and it was fine. Just don't want everyone to notice I'm smaller on one side.I started back to work this week and I will not wear any knit type clothing. Only blouses. My husband does like the feel of them. I got the silicone gel implants. I hope you all are doing well. Thanks again.

    I had a lumpectomy, but,
I had a lumpectomy, but, from the pinkies that I know that have had implants, they all had to give their implant some time to settle in, so to speak. I hope that yours will and you will be happier with it.

    I had a lumpectomy
I had a lumpectomy. My left side is smaller.I expected that.Esp with all the surgeries I
I've had on that side.No scarring but a indentation where one of the benign tumors was found. It was my cancer tumor and one benign removed at the same time.Since then I had another benign tumor removed and have a third benign tumor now that is still there. Will see when I get it taken out.For now I am fine.I see how you feel.Hard getting a bra that fits.My good side my bra it to small. My bad side it is to big. Can't win!!!!

Like others said wait and see if things are different after a time.I also would think things wouldn't be the same so soon. I mentioned something to my surgeon once.I said "I have a good side and a bad side".He said the bad side will NEVER be the same.I understand that and I can see that. I am happy though with no scarring.

Give it some time like others said.Seems your doctor would tell you that.I hate going through surgeries.Would rather wait it out and see what happens before having a surgery.I know some people get infections. My niece was one and another lady got one and later passed away. She went through all the reconstruction only to find out it had spread but the infection is what probably took her.
