    Ditto on the certified
Ditto on the certified fitter. You can usually find one at Nordstrom if there is one near you. You will have to ask, the dept is usually kind of hidden to the general public and it's good to call ahead and make an appointment.

Also ask at your treatment center if they can recommend a certified fitter. And you could google "mastectomy bras in name of your city". Finally, check with your insurance, they might be covered.

Good luck, and I hope the surgery to get the one fixed goes smoothly.

    Hugs,

    LOL -
you're lucky enough to live where there is a Nordstums, Burdines, or Fredrick's (not the porn clothes site but the Dept. store). Here there is ONE Certified Fitter within 300+ miles. She's great and works at a Medical Supply Place.

    Bras
    Kit Kat:
My problem is that I can't tolerate any regular bra after lumpectomy and lymph node removal, just too painful. Purchased a couple of mastectomy bras at a local woman's boutique (I live in Houston), and wear them without inserts. The material is softer and stretches, but do not hold up my large boobs! Found a sports5 minutes later the thing rides up across the boobs, useless! Will head back to the boutique to see if they have a solutions that's affordable. To my surprise I found that I could have had Medicare pay for a couple of bras per year, I am on fixed income but was not comfortable with the thought of saddleing the poor US taxpayer for my bras, I'd feel gulty every time I'd put them on! If you do not a Nordstrom or speciality boutique close by, would the internet help?

    I wear a 36 C
I wear a 36 C but my husband says for me to do something about (what he calls my 3rd boob.)He said my good breast is bulgin out in the middle .Then I need another size.BUT my problems is I can't find a D bra that I like. They are all underwire.I WON'T wear them.

I spend alot of time in stores looking for a bra I like.Even my husband is around the bra dept. What about this one or this one?I always find something wrong with them. Never did it matter to me till now.

I did go on line but I like seeing what I am buying.I am not a online shopper when it comes to clothes/bras.Will see what I can find but thinking a BALI bra might be what I am looking for.

Amazing how cancer can get us looking for bras more than anything else we wear.
