It's Hubby fault I wound up in UC - DR says!

YUP - I wound up in UC (Urgent Care) yesterday and the Dr says it's Hubby's fault - I agree -absolutely his 'fault'!

Night before last while I was playing the 'puter, he was playing on his Smart Phone and found an App that turns phone into a flashlight. So he put it on his phone and grabbed mine and put it on it too. He insisted that I go outside and "Check it out!" I did but in the process I slipped/tripped on a rut from where things drove when it was wet - now dry and hard - and foot HURT BIG TIME. Made it back in the house and figured just another bad "Owwie". Hubby wanted to take me to UC then but I said NO - I'll see how it is in morning. Morning cam and it was worse so I agreed that he could take me up to Ft. Meade VA (SD not VA the State). When I explained what happened - the DR looked at me with a totally stone cold face and said "It's your Hubby's fault! He should not have put a flashlight App on your sell!" and burst out laughting uproarously/contagiously so I did too - several people stuck their head in the room to see if we were OK! SO it's Hubby's fault!

Well she ordered x rays and some blood work that included a 'gout' test (apparently recently she had missed a gout case and was being careful - didn't completely understand that but oh HaWell). All blood work was good and from what she could see in the x-rays no broken bones so I got sent home with the idea I had soft tissue damage. We had just gotten home when the UC called and said that the Radiologist had reviewed the film and there is a very small fracture so today I have to go back today and get 'something' from PT to stablize it and go back in 3 - 4 weeks for more X-rays.

So YUP - it's all Hubby's fault - he swears he'll never put another flash light App on my cell! I have no idea what other strange 'things' he'll come up with though - LOL

Susan

(I really hope taht ya'll get some good laughs over this!)

Oh boy, is he in the dog house, Susan!
Just when you're skating along--boom. Hopefully you'll heal quickly. I think it's only fair now (at least for the next couple of weeks) that hubby helps out--laundry, cleaning, cooking!

    Take care,
    Hugs, Renee

    OK...note to Susan ( and
OK...note to Susan ( and Susan's hubby!) There is a proper time/place for these apps! I went to a Wierd Al concert last month, and a guy with a smart phone had a candle App~ he was swaying the "candle" to the songs. That's what immediately came to mind when I read your OWIE account!

I can only imagine how much it hurt~ we take such good care of ourself and try to be pro-active and aware of all thigs cancer~ and its the smart phone apps which are going to take us out! LOL Something so niot right with that...

    Feel better, poor you!

    When I
When I read the title, I thought what a horrible thing for a doctor to say, but farther along, as I was laughing, I realized it was totally hubby's fault. Glad it wasn't more serious, maybe hubby will do more of the work with the horses for a while out of guilt. If I were you, I'd consider password protecting my phone in case hubby finds a bungee jumping app for you.

    Hope it's better real soon.

    I really HOPE everybody laughes!
Bungee jumping - I don't have to worry about - parachuting maybe. He spent 20 years as a PR (Paracute Rigger) in the Navy though he only jumped with once with one of his chutes - had to back then to get out of school.

OH YEAH = he's doing horse for now!

    Sue,
    glad it wasn't worse

    Sue,
glad it wasn't worse and yes it is his fault. He should have included the fill in the hole app if he was going to send you outside. LOL Now he can add the crutches or cane app to your phone. How about a diamond ring app? Yeah, that would be nice.
Again, sorry about the fall and the fracture but relieved it wasn't more.

Laughing here. There's an app for that!! I had just about made the decision to get to my hairdresser and have her shave my head. I don't think my creative styling job is going to make it too much longer. My sweet daughter called and will take me over for my blood work and to get my hair "undone." Then to my surgeon for mastectomy follow up.
The hair loss is something I expected and prepared for and dealt with when it began yesterday. The truth is, taking this step took some courage and I'm glad my daughter stepped in and helped me.
Thanks for starting what's not going to be a great day with a laugh.

    Thanksgiving in Deadwood?
I'm thinking he's going to have to take me to Deadwood for at least 1 night - probably 2 - to either the Bullock or the Franklin - both are "haunted" - over Thanksgiving and give me money for my "big time gambling" - the penny slots! LOL Tourists will mostly be gone by then and the Christmas tourist won't be there yet.

Soft tissue can take a lot longer to heal than 'bone' so I'm 'glad' that it did turn out to be a small fracture - it'll a lot quicker to heal
(as you know) than if it had been soft tissue.

Son used the clippers on me
When hair was about gone - Son used the clippers on it for me - then he and all the other "Sons" (his friends/our other "Sons") also got their heads clippered too.

    dark ages
Being a product of the Dark Ages, I expect 3 things from my cell phone: 1. to make calls, 2. to receive calls 3. to hear messages. Guess I should add 4 and 5 - check the date and/or time.lol

It is amazing what you can do with all the new gadgets! Sounds like hubby had a good idea and good intentions. BUT...Murphy's Law sometimes comes into play!

    Heal quickly!

A hubby with good intentions - watchout!
Thank you for the chuckle -

Twice in the last month I has to ask my hubby 'what were you thinking'!?! First, at the fair during the parade (around here people in the parade throw candy at the spectators) hubby yells 'Over here' Immediately I was bopped on the head with a (what else?) a Dum Dum lollipop. OMG! I saw stars. While it might not seem like much, when it comes hurling at you at the speed of light - ouch.

And then, a friend had given us some garden fresh produce. Hubby says, 'I opened the trunk!' It was night time & I have no vision in the dark. Well, he did open the trunk - part way. Bonk!

He's a hayseed and snores loud enough to be heard in the next county, but still a keeper and more clueless than I am when it comes to apps! Phew!

Susan, so sorry to hear about 'soft tissue'
damage. I have to admit, that I did find humor in your story -- I then recalled about 6 episodes that my husband and I have had over the past few years ... I am 'accident prone', it doesn't need to be dark at all.

Amazed that UC facility Doctor went far beyond the call of duty regarding testing and TLC.3

I wonder how long you can use tissue and fracture to get out of work with your horses, and around the house. This should be good for 3 weeks, right ?
