    We are hoping it will weaken. Sounds like North Carolina is right in it's path.

    Praying for all those in the path of Irene
    All my husband's family live in NJ and his brother and sister-in-law just purchased a home in the Outer Banks. They are so frightened. I just hope everyone stays safe and well.

    Thanks for the good wishes
    While we're not on the coast we've been told to prepare for the winds and possible power outages. We've also been advised to remove fruit from trees and the apples can be propelled with enough force to break windows. You're right, first the earthquake and now Irene! We're stocked up with food, water, etc. and figure we can weather it. After all, we lost power in the storm right before Memorial Day when the tonadoes went through. Enough already!

    We are avid boaters on the Chesapeake Bay in MD. We are indeed hoping Irene weakens. Expecting hurricane force winds where the boat is docked. Tropical storm force winds at our home. Ugh. Husband is working during the eye of the storm. Prepared and tied boat for storm surge and pending flush out of the bay as the hurricane departs. Hopefully she'll make it thru.

    Wishing everyone in the path of Irene will be safe and secure.

    Thank you, I'll be glad when it is over. It's going right over us.
    I live in Ocean County, New Jersey and so far it's only mandatory evacuation.
    It might change tomorrow morning.
    Please everyone on the east coast, stay safe.

    had one shower with some wind shortly after noon
    actually it was more than a shower but not a blowing deluge. All was quiet until now. The sky is getting black and it's rumbling out there.

    Irene go home!!!!!!

    Here in Central Maryland its not too bad yet. Just started raining in earnest. I'm about 35 miles from the Bay so not looking for storm surge here. Pray for my Mom, she's 90 and alone down by Ocean City, MD. I have the police and her association keeping tabs on her and have lined up friends to take her out if they have to evacuate. She lives in a place called Ocean Pines and she is surrounded by these huge pine trees and the house is on a canal. But being stubborn, she refused to go with others when they were heading inland. Please pray to and the angels and saints to keep her safe. I'm a wreck!!! To the rest of us in the path of this storm, pray we are all ok. Thanks for your prayers!
