Hi all, I haven't seen this mentioned before, so I was wondering if anyone has experienced constant hiccups after chemo? Rick is on Folfiri/Avastin, and every time he receives treatment he hiccups every 10 seconds for hours at a time (it's now been four hours straight as I type this). The hiccups are bad for at least two days days, then gradually begin to go away. So,if anyone has a good cure (even a temporary one) we'd really appreciate your suggestions... Thanks in advance, Cynthia |

My dad had the same trouble.
My dad had the same trouble. He hiccupped for days. it only stopped when he slept. There is a prescription called baclofen 10 mg tablets that helped him tremendously! Ask doc for that. Call Dr at home and he will call it in! It is extremely annoying to someone who is already going through something rough.

Thank you, he's going to ask
Thank you, he's going to ask the nurse about it tomorrow when she comes for the disconnect. He stopped for about a half hour, but it just now started up again as soon as we got into bed. :-( Thanks again. Cyn

My hiccups were annoying when I was trying to sleep. However, they were murder when I had a car crash and my ribs were messed up for a month. OW!
The onc gave me an anti hiccup med, One more thing to take.
