Hole in mouth

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
After 1st stage tong cancer & the surgery that took out 3 inches of it.
After 3rd stage SSC (H&N) cancer, chemo & a hiccup stop just to start all over.
After 4th stage B, more chemo, radiation & surgery.
After all of this, I now have a hole in my mouth about the size of a pencil eraser exposing my jaw bone. They chiseled down the bone, hoping the skin would grow back over it but after a month, it hasn’t. Now they’re talking possible hyperbaric chamber but I haven’t been stamped "in remission" yet. I hear if you have any remaining bad cancer cells, the oxygen will feed them as well as good cells & you may get cancer again. I also know of the possibilities of skin grafting, but not sure if my body will accept it. Plus, that means more mouth surgery & who knows if the lack of skin in my mouth will even be able to handle it?
Any thoughts, ideas or stories?

    From what I know about Oxygen it is bad for cancer cells, so don’t be afraid of HBO treatment.

    Wow - glad you've made it through all that - seems unfair (I know - life's not fair) that you'd STILL have to be dealing with this. I dunno anything about it, but have heard folks speak very well of HBO treatments. Years ago, people did say that if you opened someone up to operate, and the air got to the cancer, the cancer would spread. This was years ago, though, and my mother in law and her friends said it to me, not a doc. Nowadays, like Hondo, I hear oxygen is good to fight cancer cells. Hope you finish healing soon.
