Tamoxefin and Effexor and exhaustion

So I'm starting month 3 of tamoxifen and week 2 of Effexor 3.5ml and am exhausted all the time. I think the only time I'm not tired is when I'm asleep!! Just walking up stairs winds me. After this week my dosage of Effexor will be doubled! Will I be a walking zombi?! Sometimes I wonder if all these meds are worth it! I'm gaining weight too! I watch what I eat so I know it's the meds. Is anyone else experiencing these side effects and do they lesson? Also something I found really weird since being on tamoxifen, smells bother me like when I was pregnant!! I haven't been able to eat meat or eggs the last 2 months!! The smell of meat cooking makes me gag! Am I going crazy?!

    I take Tamoxifen and Xanax. I know the Xanax usually makes me sleepy so I only take 1/2 a pill as needed (some days more needed than others)I too am 3 months into Tamoxifen as my MO had me start it during rads so the RO could note if I had any immediate problems. Haven't experienced the weight gain yet but I think my hormones had been messed up prior to dx and this is not much different. I do know that I tire easily, and was having trouble sleeping through the night, but that has gotten some better...not completely gone.

    I sure wouldn't say that these are not Tamoxifen S.E. as each one of us is effected differently by each med.

    Angela,
    Check how much protein you are taking in. That may account for some of the tired. Also, watch to see how well your are sleeping. Arimidex makes me tired too but it is getting better. Probably because I am getting over the initial chemo stuff? I couldn't take effexor because it made me loopy. If you are taking it for hot flashes, maybe they can give you something else?
