lousy few days

I got through the "bad" weekend pretty well but I have to say that I woke up again today with a fever of over 100. The bronchitis is totally out of control. I can't sleep cause I cough all the time. I fall off my 3 european pillows if I do happen to doze off. Went to see my regular doc today and he put me back on an antiobiotic and 50mg of steroids. I will be a maniac by tomorrow. Poor Andie. Actually, I can keep it under control if I remember that I'm on steroids and that my reactions to things are not rational. I think I'm afraid that I am in a vicious cycle here and that chemo is going to compromise my immune system so much that I'm going to end up with bronchitis evey time and there will be a lot of "times". Bronchitis is an Enemy #1 for me. Ok - time for a little faith and remembering that God's got my back and will lead me out of this - if I pay attention.

So sorry to read what a terrible time you're having with bronchitis. I have had it and it isn't any fun. Can't your doctor give you something to sleep and to help the cough at night? Mine finally gave me a liquid to take and I slept all night long without coughing. If I can find the bottle still here, I will post it for you.

    Feel better soon,

Thanks Lex. My doc gives me
Thanks Lex. My doc gives me cough syrup with codeine but it puts me in a twilight sleep and so I keep jerking awake. I know - people laugh at me because I have such an opposite affect from codeine. Oh Well. Maybe yours is different.

So sorry that you are having problems--the only suggestion that I can give is to use a vaporizer at night---you know, the kind that you would use for a child. Don't know if this would help or not, but keep us posted! Hope you can get some relief!

    Pam5......
I am soooo sorry the broncitis is wearing you down. I'm glad to hear you sought help from your reg. doctor. I hope the meds will clear this up for you. Or at least maybe give you some relief so you can sleep. Rest when you can - as much as you can....without it, the irrational grouchies might reveal their nasty heads. Beleive me, I've been there...done that. It was not good! :(

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you get some relief soon.

    Hugs, Debbie

    Update on Pam5
I just wanted to give you an update about the results of Pam's CT scan tonight. They told her she has a lot of irritation, and the doc said he thought it might be pneumonia.
Hopefully, her oncologist will give her a call tomorrow after he's taken a look at the results. She's still running a fever, and I'm not sure why the combo of antibiotics and steroids haven't addressed that.

I'm sure Pam will be back and posting tomorrow, but when we got back from the hospital tonight, she was just exhausted.

You are awesome women, and I am so grateful for your support and care!

    Andie
