How totally wrong that is!!!! I can't believe that they would do that to men. I have noticed that men are being discriminated a bit more for certain things. I hope his case draws more national attention and the laws are changed to include men. Seeing that it is a federally funded program/law he would have a case for discrimination based on gender. How stressful for him and his family. There is a guy working for $9 an hour, no health insurance, obviousle trying his best, and for that to happen disgusts me.
I see the comment from breastcancer.org, but where is the American Cancer Society stance?

This is totally wrong, the disease doesn't choose it's victim and as such it also make sense that Medicaid should also be impartial to the gender of the person applying for it! Men are usually not very conscious about little changes in their bodies that they often ends up brushing it off like something that would go away by itself in time. Most often, they start thinking seriously about a lump in their body when they start to feel pain and discomfort on that part on which the disease is already in a developed stage. I know someone who felt a minor itch and discomfort in his throat and got diagnosed with a throat cancer, it was shocking that he would get such thing being so healthy and normal otherwise.

When it comes to cancer, I think men should be more aware of it since some tends to lean towards unhealthy lifestyle. I first read about Raymond Johnson here (S.C. man denied breast cancer coverage by Medicaid), I feel terrible for him that he had to live with additional hardships in life not to mention he's only 26! It must be devastating for a man so young to carry a heavy burden of cancer and all the treatments he must go through...
