Hi Ladies,

I had my 4th treatment (TAC) four days ago. Do you know if it's safe to drink coffee? Thanks!

    I would ask your doctor....
    He/she is in control!

I am a coffee addict, but, I will say, during treatment week, I always switched to Green Tea, it settled my stomach, and sat much better...same caffeine, but different.

My second chemo set, I told my onc about my green tea...and she got mad! She said "I don't want you using antioxidents during treatment!!!!"...(I didn't tell her I drank the tea all thru my chemo for the rectal...*smile*).

    Hugs, Kathi

    Coffee..
I drank coffee the entire time of my first chemo and am doing so now on this trial oral chemo.....was told both times NO GREEN TEA! My only dietary restrictions now are , no green tea, no grapefruit juice or grapefruit and two fruits I have never heard of.....
If in doubt check with your oncologist...

I had 6 rounds of TAC
and was never told not to drink coffee--I just didn't have the taste for it. Check with the doc--they are all so different in things they restrict. Mine did not let me eat any raw veggie or fruit the whole time because of the risk of salmonella and e.coli. Everything had to be cooked--that was hard for me because I love salads and fresh fruit.

    coffee
I drank coffee through AC and Taxol. My oncologist said the main reason not to is to not get dehydrated. I had one normal size cup in the morning and added an extra glass of water to my required amount. (usually I have huge (12 oz) cup in the am)
Still you should ask your doc because they all have different ideas about what is best. Mine was really against fresh produce that could not be peeled. It was really hard giving up lettuce for 5 months.

    Oops
I had 8 rounds of TAC and drank coffee throughout........and I drank several cups a day...was never told not to. Like Renee, my onc told me no sushi or raw veges or fruits...but that was it. Again, we are all different, get different direction from our doctors.....but what works for you...works! I would follow whatever my doctors tell me as far as restrictions. Afterall, it is just for a period of time...not forever. Diversity is amazing :-) Hugs
