Long, long, long load times!

I suspect they need to do some purging, get rid of all the accounts that haven't been used in years, after a notification period during which people could post and say Hey, I'm still here!
Am I really the only one who is bothered by this?

Same here...
I thought it was just me because my laptop is getting older or because too many people were using this site. It varies from day to day so I realized it wasn't me. It's very frustrating when you have written a long response to someone's post and it takes forever to post or it gets lost -

Yep, sometimes it does take a long time to load and I have lost numerous posts because of it. I end up frustrated and log out. It would be wonderful if they could fix it!

If I'm planning to write a long post I try to remember to copy it to Wordpad before sending it off into never-never land. Don't always remember, tho -

Ditto, but
Greta has been made aware, apparently by a number of us (:)) about this problem and has talked to the digitheads about it (I use that term fondly as I consider myself one as well).
Purging of members is a possibility, of course, but they might consider instead (or as well) eliminating much of the backlog of posts in the discussion boards. It is clear to me (and I may be wrong, I admit) that folks do not go back through the pages to find information, or if they do, they do not go back far, so perhaps they could set some arbitrary limit corresponding to pages (20 max?) or calendar relevance (30 days and then purge?). There is MUCH that is repetitive in the boards I visit, and I attribute it to the notion that folks do not review previous pages.
In any event, I note that it HAS sped up of late.
Glad to see you back and contributing, by the way, Deb. You were clearly missed.
Take care,

It has been really slow.
Deb,
So good to see you back on here again. How have you been doing??? I agree with you that this site has been slow. Seems like every so often it does that and don't know why.
Hope you keep in touch with us here, cause you've been missed. I know I don't come on as often anymore either. I've got a puppy now and she keeps me really busy!!! The potty training is worse than a baby that's for sure! Take care! Carole -

Good idea Joe. Sometimes I get bored watching the circle spin. There are things I think I can contribute to some of the posts. Sometimes I just check out. It's kind of a shame. I have gone back a few pages but not a few years. Right now there are 50 members online. Is that why it's slow? All of our experiences are important education for us. Some of you guys are really smart. The weird sense of humor that survivors show is unique to this group. There are 50 members here right now. That probably slows it down too. -
Thanks, all
I'm doing okay, trying to recover from another damn lung infection...antibiotics didn't clear it up so we're trying a different kind + prednisone; so maybe I'll finally get my sinkful of dishes done (prednisone makes me do housework like nothing else can!)
All take care
