Enlarged neck muscle

Options
For several years the Sternocleidomastoid muscle on the left side of my neck has been gradally getting bigger. Had several scans over the years and the doctors do not know what’s going on. Anyone experience this. I have slow growing NHL.

    Where is your NHL located?
Where is your NHL located? The neck has so many nodes. I imagine an enlarged node in that area might appear as an enlarged muscle. Is this something that your doc is aware of and is tracking? If your doc is unaware of this symptom or of the change in size of the muscle, please give them a call to get in for an exam.

I'm curious. Have you sought out a second opinion regarding your symptoms?

Yes, my doc is aware of it as is several other docs I've seen. My NHL is/was in my collar area and other places but not the neck. When I first brought it to their attention, they thought it was a node, but the scan and pet scan show none.

    MRI
Maybe they should have an MRI done with contrast.I've already had PET/CTs done that showed nothing then had an MRI done and it showed multiple nodes. This was within a 6 mouth span.I actually thought it was something else and went to an ENT.Go figure,it was NHL.My onc only does treatment with symptoms.Sometimes they aren't seen by some tecs.I always have my scans done at the same place so they can compared and be read by usually between a couple people.I think I'd go see an ENT.Good Luck,Michele DX95 FNHL3
