Hi All,

I 'talked' to John, and he is fine but unable to post. Seems that he is blocked. I agree with Sue, we need to do something about this now.
Lets come up with a great plan. We need John and his kind wisdom...

Hi Lisha,
John e-mailed me also and said he was definetely blocked from posting. Apparantly once someone has been flagged 5 times they get blocked, and he received a CSN message telling him that was the rule. Who the heck flagged him 5 times is my question....too weird! He does not remember ever saying anything bad or offensive and I have to agree, as I have been going through back postings(May 2010 to present time) and can't find anything that would support this action to block him. I hope everyone will contact CSN..I did last night, but still have not received a response back. I guess they are still deciding if my e-mail to them is "appropriate"...(their words), and worthy of a response. I think this whole situation with John is just ridiculous and shameful, and the person, or persons that flagged him should be ashamed of themselves. Hope I don't get kicked off for sticking up for a fellow cancer friend, but right is right and wrong is wrong. John being banned is just wrong in my opinion. Thanks so much for caring Lisha, I'm sure it made John feel better. People should remember..if it can happen to John, it could happen to any of us. No one should feel scared to say what they are feeling, as long as it's not mean spirited or hateful. Cancer is nasty terrible stuff and plays hard with our emotions. This added frustration for John is soooo not necessary. Do unto others as you would have done unto you...something everyone should practice..DAILY! Ok...I better chill out and be quiet.
Love to all...Sue (FNHL-2-3a-6/10)

Hi Sue,
I too sent them an email asking for them to allow John to post again. It is very sad that someone would flag him.I have no idea who would do that. Maybe if we keep sending CSN emails asking to allow John to post again, they will do so. I also think that he may need to get a new email address and start over with a new screen name.
Very sad that this is going on.

I'm finding all of this so hard to swallow. I too don't recall John posting anything offensive. We all have different ways of expressing ourselves and should have a right to do so. I certainly understand spamming, very UN-PC things like racial slurs etc. being blocked but John has never been like that. I wonder if ppl ghosting around just pick him out because of the screen name, not realizing where that came from. Just in case..IT'S HIS CAR FOLKS!! I remember way back when he first joined there were a couple of ppl that asked me about it privately. Just a thought. I wonder if he can see the postings but just can't post himself or is blocked altogether? Mary

Hi Mary,
Yes..John said he could read the new posts but when he attempts to respond he is not able to connect in. I don't know how that works, but thats what he said is happening. He did say that maybe since he posts more often than the other men, that maybe some women found him to be "out of place" so to speak. I can't imagine any woman in our group feeling that way...can you? My gosh it's 2011....the bra's have been burned for 30+ years now..ya know?
Take care friend and lets not forget our good buddy John. He sure thinks the world of you!
Love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

I think that I remember John saying that he knew who complained about him the first time one of his posts was deleted or altered. I wonder if he has any idea who the other four were? John is like the guy down the street, just a regular Joe. I can't recall him ever being inappropriate. Some days, I just can't wait to get back on to read what his response to something was. Humor is so important in life, but more so when illness strikes. John has a great sense of humor! I want to know if there were five different people who complained or just one person who complained five different times, it seems like that would carry some weight too. Kellie

Kellie,
It was not 5 different people. It was one person that complained 5 different times or more within a 30 day period. They would not tell me who it was. They never really had to tell me. I figured out who it was,but do not know what I did or said to cause them to do this.I was wondering why my post were being pulled all of a sudden because I was not saying anything that was offensive that I could see. I went back thru my post as far as I could and never saw anything that I felt was offensive. I don't even know if the post has to be offensive or not to be pulled. Just the reporting as such brings it to the administrators attention. Evidently they were being pulled for examining and never got put back on.Eventually I could not even log on,but could read the post.I went by the posting date to tell which ones were new. I still read every post and think of everyone as before, but as much as I hate to say it I just do not feel the same about posting any longer. Several members wrote the administrator inquiring what was going on. That is why I was allowed to post again, I am sure.I do not know for sure, but I think the humor was not liked by a member and instead of telling me about it,it just got reported to the administrator. Never recieved anything about being banned or reinstated. All I got was a boiler plate letter stating "Rules and Regulation". All of a sudden I was able to post again. I am sure every post is now being examined. I have posted a few times today to try and catch up and so far they are still on the site.John

I'm glad you're back and that the technical problems have been taken care of! I guess I should read the standards for posting, just in case. Who knows! Kellie

Glad to have you back here, John. It is no picnic for you to go thru this. But you know we are all there for you and are cheered up by your presence.

Hope you feel energized these days.

Liz,
You are so right. It was no picnic to go thru all that crap. Like we don't have enough crap to put up with daily. John

I think a friend of mine is one of the monitors at least that is what his daughter said. I will try to contact him to see what's up, no promises but I cannot understand why he's blocked. I have seen much worse happen over the years.

He may need to register under a new name and promise not to use the ****** star words, I think we can figure out what he means. Good grief.

Just seems wrong. I have to be missing something.

Hi Beth,

How are you doing .
It is so troubling that a good kind member can just be gone/blocked. I sent an email to CSN, but have little hope that they will respond. I agree that John may need to start again with a new email.
On the breast ca site there was a woman who kept getting blocked for good reasons, but kept showing up with new name and email. I think she changed it at least 4 times.
Lets hope that John can once again be part of our group. I find him to be so supportive and helpful.
Thinking of you tonight and hope your day went smoothly.
peaceful healing

Hi - I have NEVER ever heard of someone being blocked! NO idea about the 5 times, or even a clue how to contact them to ask that John be cleared. Like all of you, I look forward to John's positive messages and his knowledge - he's a down to earth guy and I can't imagine who would have done such a thing. Let's hope to see him here again soon!
Good luck to all of you - you're in my prayers. Fran

Nothing has been done to interfere with his use of the site. It's unfortunate he is having problems posting. It must be due to technical problems.

Getting on this board sometimes is like trying to get a hold of my doctors. Boy do they take a lot of vacations, LOL, not!

I'm fine John. Off topic but saw my eye doctor today. My dry eyes have gotten a whole lot worse, he's not sure what to do next. Sending me for some blood work to see if I have another inflamatory(sp?) condition. Geez, when it rains it pours. Gave me script for Ristasis but need ok from onc to take as could increase risk of LL lymphoma. I sure know what you mean about tired eyes.

And John...........how are you????????

Leslie,
Those dry eyes can cause you to feel really tired. I was at the eye Dr. just this week. he said my eyes were dry,but they were about the same as before. He wants to put the plugs in. I told him no. I just keep using the eye drops that Sue suggested called Soothe. At least they are not getting any dryer. Still feel tired though. I used to think it was my body that was tired, but I really feel its just my eyes. I am hoping they will clear up later, but who knows. So tired of being experimented on.Once they start you are open to it all and anything that comes down the pike. I am just getting over the charlie horse in my calf and the achy hip. Starting to feel more normal every day.Now if I can just get over this dang technical problem I should be set to go. I just had to add that in there. John(FNHL-1-4A-5/10)
