I woke this morning and felt cancer was gone

I'm afraid that even when
I am told I'm in remission I cannot really believe it or maybe it's just they can't tell me it's gone forever. I guess it's the feeling of uncertainty. I'm afraid to be too happy for fear it will be a bigger let down if it comes back. I wish I could have one day where I could totally forget the monster but it is more like I can hold the fear at bay and not let it ruin my happiness on a daily basis. If I have any ache or pain or any weird feeling in my stomach, I am sure it is back. Hell of a way to live but even though I sound down, I am really happy right now. It's just a measured kind of happiness with a little black cloud over my head.
I'm glad you have the feeling of no cancer. Keep it up.

I tend to be just the opposite. Every headache is a brain tumor, every bout of constipation is a bowel obstruction. I am constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.
My doctor told me, "It's not always about the cancer," but I have a hard time remembering that. I envy your ability to tune it out.

Yes I think you can feel that the cancer is gone or under control. I feel like that now, I don't know if we will be able to tell when it is back but I suspect that we may. Enjoy your spring !

She is my Dr. too I just love her . My one daughter is a RN at Roswell so when this first happened she of course wanted me to be treated there. But everyone at Roswell told her I couldn't be in better hands with Dr. Baker. Happy Easter to you, maybe one day we could get together for coffee.

I knew I was going to be fine about a month before I had the blood test and MRI that confirmed it. In fact, I was telling my friends and family that I was in remission and just waiting for the doctor to agree with me.
Now I don't even use the word "remission" any more. I just tell people I am well again and consider myself to be a well person (with better health habits). My mind recovered first and I am waiting for my body to catch up with my mind.
Dr. Sabatini (in the lecture on YouTube) said that some women with OVCA are cured. I decided to be one of them...it's a small club that is accepting new members.0 -

Dr Sabbatini told me that I don't HAVE cancer....I HAD cancer. I marvel at his ability to be so upbeat when I know that he must have lost a lot of patients to this disease.
Some women really ARE cured. There is a woman in my local support group who has gone 12 years with no recurrence. She was diagnosed at stage IIIc and had 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol and not a single treatment since. She does nothing special, no supplements or particular diet. She eats everything, but in moderation. She drinks a little wine, too, I've noticed. She still comes to the meetings, and she gets her CA125 checked twice a year.

Hi all, I haven't posted in quite a while because I was getting so stressed out with the people who were dying. I loved those women so much. I just couldn't keep reading. But I'm stronger now and hope to come back more often now.
Carlene, I'm with you. Every bout of constipation is cancer, so I take Miralax and it really helps. Everything is cancer. Thankfully I haven't had headaches, although they are going to do a brain scan because I am having terrible pain and terrible double vision. They say I'm the only patient they've had who has suffered with the kind of pain I'm having all over my body. I'm on Tentynol (10) and fast acting morphine every 6 hours. That still doesn't take the pain away! I've been suffering with this for months and months and I'm just about to go out of my mind. Sometimes I think it is all in my head, but I know it's not. I can't imagine I'm the only one with this tyhpe of pain in all of my joints including bones like my ribs and collar bone. Has anyone else had this problem.

Hearing about the lady who has been in remission for 12 years was the best medicine I have had since my diagnosis. It gives me such hope. Thank you for sharing her story.

Hi Mawty,
I've had a very difficult time with that too.. My friends getting too sick and lost their battle...it's just too much to see and the feeling of helplessness. I miss them so much and what wonderful advice they gave us and the kindness and loving women they were.
but, we all know how you feel, I'm sure most of us fear that also. When my CA-125 numbers go up even a little I'm holding my breath. I often think of a time before OC when I felt invincible.. I miss that feeling so much!
I also had the joint pain and at first they told me it was arthritis but, the pain was all over my body and piercing pain in my joints and bones. I am just starting to feel better and I am Oxicoden free for about 6 months now... I took myself off them!
I still take my Xanax to handle some fear issues and the Doctor Visits, the rising CA numbers, The CT scans... etc.
But, I do have to take my pain meds every once in awhile to manage the body aches but, it went from 4X a day to once a month to almost nothing now.. I hope your pain will ease soon.
