Nutrition vs. Cancer

Here is some food for thought. My brother told he me he has listened to this on late night talk radio on how cancer cannot live in a body with a high alkaline level. Here is the link
Here is a tidbit of the webpage.
Cancer and pH
To understand why some tissues in the body are deficient in oxygen and therefore prone to cancer, it is helpful to understand the nature of acidity and alkalinity. Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water (H2O) decomposes into H+ and OH-. When a solution contains more H+ than OH- then it is said to be acid. When it contains more OH- than H+ then it is said to be alkaline.

When oxygen enters an acid solution it can combine with H+ ions to form water. Oxygen helps to neutralize the acid, while at the same time the acid prevents oxygen from reaching the tissues that need it. Acidic tissues are devoid of free oxygen.

An alkaline solution is just the reverse. Two hydroxyl ions (OH-) can combine to produce one water molecule and one oxygen atom. In other words, an alkaline solution can provide oxygen to the tissues.

The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. The blood, lymph and cerebral spinal fluid in the human body are designed to be slightly alkaline at a pH of 7.4.

At a pH slightly above 7.4 cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancer cells will die while healthy cells will live (Barefoot, pages 66-67). This has given rise to a variety of treatments based on increasing the alkalinity of the tissues such as vegetarian diet, the drinking of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, and dietary supplementation with alkaline minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, cesium and rubidium.

In Holland the vegetarian diet promoted by Dr. Moerman has been recognized by the government as a legitimate treatment for cancer. Results indicate that Dr. Moerman’s diet is more effective than standard cancer treatments (Jochems, 1990).

Good Morning,
I have also been looking at other ways to keep cancer away or to treat it. So, what you are saying, is that the more alkaline we have in our body, the better chance we have to keep the cancer away or to keep it from growing. Can you simply just tell me what foods I need to eat more of or what foods not to eat. Also, in your opinion, does this also pertain to the BRCA gene population? Thank-You, Paula

If you have time, go to this website. It is a huge page with links. Very interesting.
I am still digesting all of it but I think they are really onto something.
I think I am going to start by ordering the PH strips and seeing where mine is at.
The main foods that cause acid are; meat, fish, eggs, hard cheese.
The main foods for alkaline are fruit, vegetables and berries.
Here are a list of supplements they recommend to increase alkalinity

There are other interesting cancer fighting thoughts on this page also. Here is one of
the last paragraphs.
You now understand the importance of 1) more oxygen, 2) more alkalinity, 3) less free radicals, 4) more exercise, 5) hyperthermia, 6) more enzymes, 7) a nutrient-dense diet with special attention to vitamins B17, F, C, D & glyconutrients and 8) Transcendental Meditation. These are our 8 Step Program to prevent and remove cancer. All of these you can do in the privacy of your own home. If you want to prepare an "anti-cancer lunch" what will you serve? If you are designing the ventilation system for a home how will you do it? If you have to choose between a hot tub and a sauna for your home, which will you pick? If you are to choose between a stationary bicycle and a rebounder for your home exercise machine, which would you want? (We discuss saunas and rebounders in more detail further on in this website). Do you begin to see how to build an anti-cancer diet and lifestyle that will cancer-proof your family?

No, sorry for the misunderstanding. I was chuckling that the other poster wrote something than changed her mind. I do that all the time! I will edit my post so there is no other misunderstandings.

I tried but I cannot edit that post. Sorry!

Yes, the alkaline diet consists of foods that do not promote cancer growth. There is also a supplement you can take to help make your body alkaline:
VAXA Buffer pH.
I doubt it will work, however, if you eat many acidic foods.

Yep. We have started trying to keep our moms ph level up around an 8.0. Been difficult lately because she has lost alot/most of her appetite after her surgery. She just started the DMSO with Bicabonate of Soda to try and raise it that way. We have also been trying to incorperate Johanna Budwigs protocol (flax seed oil and cottage cheese, though we use Kefir now because of her appetite) and doing the fresh organic juiceing that Max Gerson suggested. Have been recently looking into the Vitimin C IV therapy. Brother in law built her a Bob Beck blood purifier but we arent sure how soon after surgery she could start that. We all have been doing as much research on alternative ways to fight this as we can. Just are not sure which road is the right one.

Here are a few of the sites we have on our favorites that we go back to now and then to keeep up on things. Apparently some protocalls dont work well with others and it's hard to keep all of this stuff in your head. Haddn't heard of Dr. Moerman. I thank you for the info, I will be going to check that out. Love, Light, and my prayers for all.
