Hi Friends,
If you remember me from a previous post, I shared how I am a twelve year survivor and my husband was diagnosed with esophageal stage III cancer. He went through chemo and radiation at the same time and ended up in the hospital for twelve days. He gradually built up and I got him out of Idaho and into a top notch teaching hospital in Portland, Oregon for surgery. He had his entire esophagus removed and his stomach made into a new esophagus/stomach, plus had a feeding tube put in. They removed twenty lymph nodes and all of the nodes tested negative for cancer, as well as the chemo and radiation had totally irradicated the tumor in his esophagus. This surgery was done minimally invasively and what a difference! It is a huge surgery, but by not having to cut him open he is healing so much faster. He had some heart issues that complicated the surgery, but he made it and is cancer free!!!!! Thank you for all of your prayers.
God Bless you all!
Linda
