Oh my goodness I've been drinking this for over a year to keep me "regular" and now find out that you aren't supposed to take it or drink it more than a week. Talked to Pharmacist today and he said that it had senna in it and it makes for a lazy bowel if you take for a long time. Well now this is the first day off and I'm feeling constipated and hate this. If I don't have a BM every day I'm miserable. Took prune juice tonight to help, but now all I have is gas and no results and I'm feeling terrible. Any comments are worth my weight in gold :)

Hugs! Kim

Well as you know, our systems after cancer and treatment are not the same or normal. what works or does not work for others without our history can be completely the opposite for us. I persoanally think that if it works to keep you regular and the doctor has no problems with it, you should continue to take it.

You can cure constipation fast by eating bad food.... green meat.. bad milk..

Things were Ok for a year, and you're listening to some pill-clerk,
and now.... you feel worse.

1. Listen to thyself.

Everyone's different. I ate nothing but meat, high carb food,
and a lot of salt, and my blood work remained perfect. What's
good for you, might kill me.

If you were having great results with the tea for a year, what in
hell does that bone-head know, that you don't?

Drink the tea and have a happy movement.

Do it.

Good health,

John

I am a big fan of prune juice. I drink it every night before bed. I wake up and have breakfast and straight to the bathroom. How much prune juice did you have? Maybe you should have more. I only drink it before bed so there is no gas to worry about it. I also eat almonds and nuts during the day which send me to the bathroom. Good luck and let us know what works for you.

Hugs,
Lizzy

I'd talk to my doctor about it and see what he/she says. Then if the consensus is that senna causes a "lazy bowel," I would want to know how that works. And if you decide to quit the smooth move tea, maybe you can do it gradually. (i.e. prune juice/prunes -or something else- in the a.m. and 3/4 cup of tea at night; then gradually reduce the amount of tea...don't know if that would be helpful or make the process worse.)
Heck, in the meantime, I'd just do the usual, have your tea and be comfortable and happy until you figure it out!
Nothing like a good spot of tea!

Try juicing, you get all the benefits and nutrients, not the bulk. Juices digest faster and don't stay in your bowels like whole fruits and vegtables. And watch out for dairy. I also switched to Silk lacto-free. Good Luck

I'm thinking that I might just take this tea couple times a week. I did go last night but not as much as I consumed and hate feeling miserable from not going. Yes I'm doing the prune juice and tomorrow will eat the prunes, but if tonight I don't go, tomorrow I'm using the tea. Is Senna bad for your health does anyone know. If it only causes a lazy bowel then I don't care, at least it keeps me going daily. Always appreciate your input.

Hey, Kim.

I googled it, and the information was the same, that it should only be taken for a week, or it can cause "lazy" bowels. I use Miralax twice a day, every day, on my doctor's orders. Give that a try.

*hugs*
