The topic of microwaves came up in conversation the other day. Do you use them or not. I would like to hear what you think. I plan to ask my doctor about it, but wouldn't mind hearing your sage advice, too.

Take care, God bless.

All I ever used mine for was
All I ever used mine for was to reheat coffee so off it went. Really don't miss it. I know there is a lot of controversy over whether they are safe or not....I don't know, I just got rid of it.

    I use one...
But, I do avoid using plastics - of ANY kind, including plastic wrap - within it.

    I Use One
but like Christmas Girl, don't use ANY king of plastic or cling-wrap. I always use paper towels to cover stuff and glass to heat things in.

Don't have one, don't trust them...

Fire has been around much longer
and proved the test of time.

    That's all I am saying =)

We have one and I do use it from time to time. Like some of you shared... I do not use plastic but glass containers to warm food in.

    Thanks for your input.

    Yes
I do use my mircowave for reheating leftovers or tea. I never reheat anything using plastic or saran wrap...always glass or dish. I never stand in front of the microwave while it is on!

    Well I am the odd-ball
Well I am the odd-ball again. Wouldn't you know it.

I use a microwave. I cover with Saran wrap. I use plastics in it if they are made to be microwaved. I have been known to stand in front of the microwave while running. It's right above the stove.

I don't smoke though. Somethings gotta get me. I just don't worry about it. But I do use glass most of the time in the microwave.

    I use the timer only
I do not microwave because it alters the food's chemical structure. I use the timer when I cook or bake with my stove. I must say that it is an expensive timer!!!!!

Why would you want to eat or drink something that has been chemically/structurally altered by the microwave?

I use mine too Marcia. But,
I use mine too Marcia. But, I do cover everything with paper towels, not plastic wrap. But, I do have plastic, I guess, dishes that I cook asparagus and stuff in. And, a microwave makes the best corn on the cob. Yummmmmm! Mine is right above my stove too. I don't know what I would do without mine. I love it!

    Every Day
    Hi,

I use mine everyday, usually just to heat things up. I've had the same one for 25 years, it's still going. I don't stand near it when it's working though......I just can't live my life worrying about all these things.....makes me crazy....

    Microwaves
Use everyday. Often wondered about safety. Also only use glass, or stoneware, no film, no plastics. Have concerns about these huge flat screen TVs we have, dont like kids sitting too close to them. Prefer all my water boiled also, lover of tea. Plastic bottled water!!! The list goes on. But we need to know.

Miss Bella Luna .. like many before me .. I really don't
microwaves much .. except to heat up left overs. I have always stayed clear due to the radiation, as I do with photo copy machines .. when making copies, I always move far to the left or right of each photo copier --- seriously. Having had thyroid cancer so young in my life -- i just found it best to be precautious .. abt any man made - manufactured radiation. Sounds werid, just me. I do the same with fish, butter, chicken or beef -- moderation, and use you own clear judgement. I am extremely werid about carbon poisioning mixed into our air by cars, old schoold busses and semi-trucks. I always drive with my air condition blasting, even during the winter months.

Hugs and Kisses for you my dear, Ines ..
