Thanks to everyone who gave me advise as to what to use for these watery eyes of mine. Problem is they don't stop even with the eyedrops. Have used Visine now bought Genteal. Does anyone else have the "faucet" eyes? People look at me in stores or when out because it is so noticeable. Now "bags" are forming under my eyes from whiping the eyes. Any suggestions? Is this unusual?

    watery Eyes!
My eyes watered terribly, the Rt more than the Lt. I actually found out my Right tear duct was completely covered over by skin and my Left was blocked inside the duct. I had them surgically repaired and they're great now but I still have to use Restasis for dry spots on my corneas. Might not be your problem but it's a thought. HUGS!!! Cathy

    See an ophthalmologist.
See an ophthalmologist. Watery eyes are usually caused by either a blocked tear duct or an overproduction of tears. If your tear content is either too high in fats or too high in water, that can cause an overproduction of tears. An eye doctor will help.

    Watery like a faucet
My last chemo was on August 4th and my eyes continue to water like a faucet. I went to an opthamologist who prescribed some eyedrops called Lotemax. They did nothing whatsoever for the problem. He told me that there was nothing wrong with my tear ducts that he could see. He also said this is a very common side effect of the Taxotere that I took. He seemed to feel that this would resolve over time, but did not say how MUCH time. My eyes are always pink around the rims from all the wiping, too.

Will ask my Onc. if this is a side effect of the chemical and if he thinks an opthamologist should look at my eyes. Thank you...good to know it is now that unusual.

    eyes watering
It has been over a year I still have eyes watering, they did a surgury on one eye to put a tube in to drain tears. I wouldn't recommend it. It is slooooooooowly subsiding. I still always have tissues on hand as I still need them daily. Best of luck to you, just one of the wonderful side affects of the drugs.

    Hi Jean~
I am so sorry to hear about your watery eyes. I agree that you need to check with your onc. and maybe an opthalmolaigist (or however you spell that). I use Mary Kay Timewise Age-Fighting Eye Cream to help with bags. Put a little bit on the ring finger of each hand and start at the outside of the eye and dot towards the nose. It is very soothing and helps reduce the swelling (it also helps with wrinkles, too).

    Hugs to you~

Jean, you and I are on about the same "schedule" in our treatments. My last chemo was Sept 23. I still have mild watery eyes and occasional twitching. And, oh, the bags . . . If is still have this when I next see my oncologist in February, I had planned to talk to her about it. Mine is definitely better, so I'm thinking it will eventually resolve. It washes my bottom eyeliner off, and since I still have no lashes, I wish it would stop.

Gong to mention it to my Onc. ... still watering ... last Chemo was 12/21; at that time told him about the eyes. Want to check in with him to see if he recommends going to an Opthalmologist (sp). Under the eyelids seems to be a purple line now.

my eyes still water after finishing chemo almost 4 weeks ago. I often see dried tear marks on the sides of my eyes. My right eye has almost stopped twitching though. I too have bags under my eyes that were not there before even though I get plenty of sleep. It is very thin skin area so wiping doesn't help. I'm just hoping that with time all will improve.

    watery eyes
I had the same thing happen to me. I had to go to an eye Dr. and he put tubes in my tear ducts. Apparently they get kind of plugged and need to be cleaned out. It was a quick procedure and it made a world of difference. No more runny eyes.

    Eyes watering constantly

Hello, I finished chemo in 2013 with Taxotere as one of the medications. I started having dry eyes in the morning only that resolve with artificial tears. Throughout the day, my eyes (especially my right) waters constantly. When I'm outside, it's unbearable.  It's actually gotten worse over the past year.  I've seen an ophthalmologist who placed punctual plugs without relief. I've tried antihistamine and steroid eye drops without relief.  The doctor basically said it's due to the Taxotere and not much else can be done. It's so frustrating ?. Please share any remedies or suggestions. Thank you!
