Husband decided to go for the chemo. I can't believe it. He'll start it Jan. 6th. Hopefully there won't be any adverse reactions like with the Erbitux. He'll be getting Methotrexate. I have to research it yet but it was that or Taxotere. He'd rather not take that because there is a chance he could have the same reaction with Taxotere as with the Erbitux.

So as of today we do not have cancer until after the holidays are over. We have entered a CANCER FREE ZONE for the next couple of weeks.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and support.

So glad your husband decided to try the chemo! And it's nice you don't have to think about it till after the holidays. Hope you can enjoy them!

    Good Luck
watch him with the chemo. Go with him. When mom had chemo on 2 differnet occassions the drip was set too fast for my mom and she started to pass out. Several of the peoplethere were alone, thankfully my mom wasnt because one of those times I had to call the nurses attention to it and my brother was with her the other time to get the nurse. On the 2nd time we even TOLD the nurse ahead of time that it had to be on slow drip for my mom and the nurse said "ok" but then set it to fast drip anyway! I guess she wanted to go home early on those days...... B%&CH

Believe me they will be watching my husband carefully. Last Monday he was supposed to start Erbitux. It barely got into his veins when he had an anaphylactic reaction. We almost lost him. I'll be there but I know they will be watching him like a hawk. I think it scared the life out of all of us. Sorry you had problems with your Mom. Chemo is very tricky but the second time around they should have been more careful.

    Have a wonderful holiday.
