After diagnosis in Feb this year and even though we live in So Cal, we traveled to Palo Alto for a consult with Stanford's nationally known open & nerve sparing RP urological surgeon. We were extremely impressed with the doctor, staff, and cancer center at Stanford. Unlike your low risk PCa, my husband has intermediate risk, locally advanced non-metastatic high volume T3 PCa and ultimately decided against RP as primary tx after consults with over a 1/2 dozen different PCa specialists at leading medical centers from So Cal to No Cal. However, if he had decided to have open RP, I think Stanford would have ranked first or second for our choice to have PCa treatment. Hope this info helps in your decision process. Good luck.
