I have been a Hodgkins survivor for 9 years and just recently have had swollen glands and the doc found a nodule on my thyroid (hypo). Ever since he said I had swollen glands I began itching, not as severe as the first go round, but I have that nagging stinging feeling that moves around... could this just be my mind playing games? I have a bad feeling. What are the odds to beat this disease again if it has reared its ugly head again? I'm worried and scared. Any advise, suggestions, jokes ect.... I see my onco on the 15th of November. Seems like a million years away! :( I'm new to this board, just today.

Hi, I am trying to keep busy with the holidays... cooking,cleaning,shopping.etc.... It's hard though isn't it? Also thinking and worrying what is going to happen next? Should I call my oncologist or wait for the three month appointment I have scheduled in two weeks? I also had to cancel the back surgeon because I developed shingles- because of the back problems, stress, low immunity? Why does every doctor pass your problem on to another doctor? My thoughts and prayers are with you, too.

If you can wait 2 weeks for your appt that should be okay, but wouldn't wait much longer. However, if things are bothering you and you need some piece of mind make an appt or call and seek some immediate answers. It is hard - the waiting and everything. I'm glad though that you are able to keep yourself busy - busy is good and a blessing that any of us have the energy to be busy :) Thats one positive right? I don't like the "pass the patient" either but sometimes its best to see a doc that specializes in any certain area of concern. That was a long hard journey I learned to adapt to. I wish you well and hope that you have a blessed Thanksgiving. Come back and let me know how your appt goes okay? Take Care!

Sorry to hear about your reoccurence. Unfortunately this stuff does come back. I had swollen lymph nodes and night sweats back in 1989 was put on cytoxin pills and interferon and was in remission in one year. I was cancer free from 1991 till this past october 2009 when I discovered a lump the size of a golf ball in my groin. This time no pills or shots I had to get a port and was hooked up to a chemo drip for four days a week. I have been on disability since. Yes I am remission but the side effects of this chemo are a daily struggle with pain. I hope everything goes well for you, remember that it is treatable and a positive attitude can be a great equilizer.

Hi Frdad1,

I have not heard from my Onco yet for my results, but my appt is on Monday. Hoping for good news. My tests I know have been in his office for over a week now so I'm hoping that if it was anything of concern he would of contacted me by now. He is the type of doctor though that likes to sit with his patients and go over results. Soooooo I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I did however, get a lot of other things taken care from all these appts/doctor visits, symptoms ect... at least the doctors have a few things they can work with. I hope that your daily struggles become easier for you. I'm also glad you are in remission...thanks for the kind words of hope. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.... Andrea

Hi Andrea, I've been trying to connect to anyone on the boards for a year now. I guess i'm not that tecnically savvy. But here is wishing for the best news from the doctor. I've had all kinds of doctors and the oncologist seem to be the most secretive when it comes to giving out results. I don't know why. But anyway enjoy this day and the weekend and I hope for many more for you. Sincerely, Frank
