At the top of this page, in the middle, it says click here to update your about me page. You can click on that and go to your own profile page and write info about yourself, if you want to.

go to the top of the page where it says "Click here to Create or update your Member About Me" page. There they will ask you ?'s about your diagnosis, treatments, etc...
No you did not approach this site incorrectly, it's that there are so many spammers that come on here, if there's no information about someone, we tend to be leery of them & their posts.

So, it wasn't just me who thought that DisneyFan might acatually be Shy Violet?! LOL The reason I thought so was 3-fold...1) Both Disney and Shy are prolific and thought-provoking posters, 2)Shy always mentioned how Disneyland is one of her favorite go-to places, and, 3) the old-stand-by that they are never in the room at the same time!
Not that it would be a bad or a wrong thing, of course! But it's so funny that we had the same idea! Makes me smile on a Monday!

Spammers come on the site and post virus infected web sites by pulling up old posts on here, and, posting links for someone to click on. They literally do it page after page after page. We just had one on a few weeks ago, but, they were deleted and their IP blocked, so, I hope we have seen the last of that one for awhile.
You don't have to write anything on your profile. I never look at anyone's. But, if you want to write about yourself on here, that is one place to do it.

Sometimes, some of us, think somethings amiss, when someone comes on all of a sudden with no background, and the skeptical think "Who are you?" You do seem to be legit. and not some kind of spammer, many personal issues are shared here, anyway you'll figure it out, welcome!! Alison0 -

Ladies, this is too funny -- I had the same thought....shy violet was posting a lot, participating a lot, then seemed to suddenly stop, and disneyfan has kind of a similar writing style to shy's.

We welcome you with open arms and hearts! Nothing you have written needed to be deleted!
It wasn't even a perjorative to be thought of as Shy Violet! She too is rather new to the boards, and as I mentioned, is a thought-provoking poster and loves Disneyland!
The "About Me" page can be filled in as much as one wants~ it just helps us to get better acquainted~ the age range, type of treatment, what has helped you along the way~ that sort of thing. It isn't invasive, nor is it a third degree! :-)
No boats were rocked!
