Two weeks ago, last embolization went well, but was more stressful physically on Mike than the first. The nauseau was uncontrollable. The Washington transplant board is making their consideration. Last weeks colonoscopy went well, without a hitch, but the following CT scan showed enlarged lymph nodes. If the cancer mets outside of the liver, he will be ineligible for the transplant. Thursday my son flew in from Conneticut, we were on our way to a dinner out to celebrate when Mike began to vomit. By Friday night the edema and ascites was so bad that we went to the ER and they were able to tap 4 liters of fluid out of his abdomen. While in the hospital I found out that my 22 year old was rushed to the hospital with a broken ankle, and my nephew was arrested for a DUI last night. We're back home again, but I feel so over exhausted/stressed out over this rollercoaster that I'm feeling really anxious and upset. Just the up and down and up and down seems endless. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!

I just needed to vent that. Thanks.
Penny

    Penny,
This is a road no one wants to travel. It is always ups and wons. I think everyone on here can relate to this.
That is the sad part no matter how hard it is, we keep trying .

    Hi Penny,
You sure seem to have a lot of bad news piled up all at once. I'm sorry.
Try and calm down so as not to get sick yourself. I'll be praying for you.

I'm sorry you are having to deal with so many things at once. Remember to take care of yourself. Go for a walk, breathe, pray, whatever it takes. Life really isn't fair sometimes and cancer sucks. Fay

    When it rains it pours!
    Gosh Penny,
So sorry things aren't going good. I know you have to be disappointed, but you can't give up. Your husband needs you so be there for him. Sorry about your son breaking his ankle too. And I can imagine how you feel about your nephew. I also have a nephew that is an alcoholic. It's not easy dealing with so many things at once, but try & think positive.
I'll say a prayer for all of you!! "Carole"

    Take a Deep Breath!
    Hey Penny
Well....they say it happens in threes! You should be ok now for awhile. Sorry you are having to go through so much. We are always here for you whenever you need us! Vent away. I agree, take care of yourself, go for a walk, a massage, a manicure. Hang in there, Mike! The best is yet to come. Good things come to those of us who wait. That transplant is going to happen, I just have a strong feeling about it. Many hugs and prayers are being sent to you both.

    Thanks
Thanks, Tina. What an encouraging post.I'm just taking it day by day. This week he's been pretty sick. But I too have a lot of hope and expectation that the transplant board will approve him and put him on the list. Either way, I want to be able to enjoy the time that we do have. Today is our wedding anniversary; seven years : )
