A good time was had by all this weekend in Ft. Worth, TX for Colon Palooza 8! I've been to CPs in Austin, Nashville, San Francisco, and Key West. This year was extra special to me as I celebrated by 10 year survivor anniversary of Colon Cancer stage 3 (at age 29). Thank you to our wonderful hosts, JoAnn and Don and to all that attended. I am reminded that something good did come of this horrible cancer- you all! Looking forward to next year's celebration of life and hoping that even more Cancer Survivor Newtwork members will join in the celebration. From my Mom, Peggy, who attended with me... While it was wonderful to celebrate my daughter, Suzann’s 10th anniversary, with her son, Robert, and good friend, Larissa, it was equally as wonderful to meet this unique group of people. Cheryl and Jerry from Michigan made us feel like old friends from the first hello – showing us how to aerate red wine. Also, it was great to meet, Kathy and her daughter, Kristie, from southern California, Craig and Kim from Arlington, Texas, Jennie, and her brother, Chuck from Illinois, Beth and Wendy from San Antonio, and Debbie (a.k.a. little Debbie cakes) and John (a.k.a. Juan) (a.k.a. Coors Light) from New York. What fun it was to be with each of you – thanks for allowing me to join you! You have always been in my prayers and now forever in my memory of a great weekend! Thank you, |

Aeration
How do you aerate red wine? With an aerator, of course! Found this neat little toy in a shop down the street from our hotel in Fort Worth. It uses the "venturi effect" to do in seconds, what decanting for 2 hours does. It's called a "Vin-Turi". Of couse, the best part is still drinking it. Did a lot of that at CP8! We had a BLAST! Thanks Don and Jo Ann!
