For those palooza photos too! Guess they are too busy having fun.
My 23 year old son is having heart surgery today so I'm spending the weekend attending to all of that. Means my ex-husband is in town and we are having lunch. So, I'm entertaining him for a couple of days and playing tour guide via phone each time he gets lost. Got the first call this morning at 4 am to give him directions. He was one of those that would never stop and ask directions so, 20 years later, I'm still telling him where to go. LOL
I am sorry to hear your son is having heart surgery today. My thoughts are with you and your family. Please keep us posted. I guess sometimes it could be fun to tell an ex "where to go!" I think you must have made a typo regarding your son's age; you don't look much more than 23 yourself!
Unfortunately, he suffered a stroke in July and has been trying to recover the use of his right side since then. He is coming along with a lot of physical therapy. He has other serious health problems and after the stroke they diagnosed him with a hole in his heart (PFO). But, you won't believe this... After these months of getting him healthy enough for surgery, they went in yesterday (laproscopic thank goodness) and couldn't find the hole??? Need I say we are quite upset with the situation. He is doing well today. Thank you so much for asking and the good wishes.
Lori, I am sorry your son suffered a stroke, particularly at such a young age. That is odd about not finding the hole; I hope they come up with a good explanation for you.
We are having a shed built in our backyard. I have wanted one of these for a long time. It will be kind of like an extra room for a good part of the year + then we can store extra stuff in there in the winter. They are working on it right now. Sunday we are having my husband's sister + cousin out for a little birthday dinner (his sister). I hope to get out walking; the weather here is magnificant - sunny, with a breeze.
sister this is the biggest news! I love sheds....i am the shed queen.....can you post a pic Anne.....
mags...ps I am in mine wellgoing out to mine right now.....woodstove burning brightly ....DH making home-made pizza and a rented movie waiting for viewing later tonight.
Me too; I have wanted one of these forever! I will try to post pictures when it is finished - they have erected the whole thing but the roof needs to be shingled. I have never posted pictures but I will do my best. It is looking really good; better even than I had hoped. It is nice to know you are a fellow shed-lover. We won't have a woodstove but maybe an electric heater. Do you use yours all year round? Your evening sounds lovely.
My youngest son called to tell me that since my schedule is messed up so that I am on chemo this weekend, he is staying in town at his dad's rather than coming home tonight for a week as per our usual schedule.
All of my kids are going to their father's on Sunday for a family October birthdays party - this includes my second-born daughter and youngest son in the celebration, along with their grandfather and father.
Tomorrow home health care disconnects me from tx#2 (which has been a lot harder than #1 so far). Sunday I have to go in to the hospital for a Neulasta shot. After that I'll watch our American football team. Hopefully this week they can do something to boost my spirits rather than keep crushing them. ;)
Tonight we are going to Chuck E. Cheese with 10 grandkids and then Sunday, I'm making a 24 lb. turkey and ham dinner, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean caserole, salad, and rolls for our 8 kids/10 grandkids. Now that is what you call a housefull. Always room for more, just bring a chair :)
I forgot about the difference in oven size. In North America, a 24 pound turkey is not unusual - the times when we tend to have turkey - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, are usually when we have large crowds + I think everyone loves the leftovers, almost more than the original meal. You will have to come over someday for a Canadian or American holiday meal!
2nd Annual Rally for our men in our community with many guest speakers and 3 testimonies (one of which is yours truly)...I enjoy this rally very much...

I don't have any plans other than just enjoying whatever I do.
One Friday you are going to ask this question and I am going to reply " I'm leaving for a week of cruising!" Where shall I go? Just anywhere will be fine. Will update later:)
Sounds good, Pepe. I have actually been thinking of doing the Panama Canal cruise. I'll let you know what I decide. It helps to have a sister who owns a cruise travel agency.
tomorrow , mayby escargots and some Rioja wine! ( im mad with escargots) maybe better ,as is mushroom season here some wine and mushrooms testing ? what about?
Left this morning for litle R&R at the cottage. George came up tonight after work, he will stay until Sunday afternoon. I will stay until Wednesday then head home (its only a 158 mile drive). Leaves are colorful, water is still, bright sunshine, crisp air, fire in the fireplace (ok don't really need the fire but it is nice), cat all warm and curled up.
Cottage is up in West Branch, Michigan. We bought it several years ago as a retirement home. Its about 175 frontage on the water and about 325 or so deep and is an all year round home so we are up here even in the snow. It was only 9 months old when we bought it. I remember a few years ago waking up to 22 inches of snow on the day we were leaving to go home, waited a couple hours, put the Jeep in 4 wheel drive, and off we went.
This place is really George's dream but I truly do enjoy it. Now cancer has given us bumps in the road to retirement. We come up here all the time, it is only about 2 1/2 hous from home.
but we never meet each other in there , but normally on NY or LA.
what a nigthmare imagine every month flying from Barcelona to the states and then to
LA. But we where young and plenty of health Tina!.
Well lm still young 52 LoL, and in good shape and married to the best girl I'm the world!.
Hugs Tina.
I'm hoping to stay home tomorrow and relax the whole day. Last night my stomach pain kicked up big time again, and then today I took a tumble when I forgot about the step down from a restaurant. I hurt ALL OVER!
What I love most in my new "yard", is that my husband bought me an Angel, I call her my "Gardening Angel", he calls her my "Guardian Angel", but having your own Angel, is always nice!!!!
In the picture, she is holding my first cutting of flowers from my flower garden.
That is what I should be doing. I bought 7 endless summer hydrangeas. When my mom got sick the weeds took over my garden and I have to clean and mulch this fall. My car will not be clean until Dec with the stuff. I have to buy.
I almost bought Hydrangeas at Home Depot, but they had aphids on them, so went with the tried and true, well, I forgot their name, I'll remember tomorrow, bougainvilleas (ha, remembered their name before I was done with the post, now there's progress). Next time, I'm just going to buy the Hydrangeas and Lady Bugs to go with them. LOVE THEM!!!
Go for the gardening, I can't believe how energized, yet how relaxed I feel among my new little "friends" my flowers.
